I did my homework, and I specified during the appointment the two labs that were authorized by my insurance. The office team sent my labs to an out-of-network lab. Additionally, I provided the pharmacy where I wanted my script sent to. Instead, they sent it a virtual pharmacy that mails you the script. The virtual pharmacy wasnt able to get my meds within 5 days. Because this was a Friday afternoon appointment, by the time I learned my script wasnt sent to my pharmacy, I was unable to have them call it to my pharmacy until Monday. When this is skin irritation related, waiting that time can be very difficult.

Going back to the out-of-network lab "gaffe", something that should have cost me $3.17 out of pocket, cost me $242+. I called the doctors office every monday for 6 months- spoke to office manager Melissa every time. Every time it was a different excuse, different reason. In the end, I was able to triangulate a call (many attempt were made and melissa "accidentally" got disconnected) and both the insurance company and the lab stated on the call that the lab is out of network. Melissa still continued to dodge blame.
