Dear Revdex.com- First we would like to thank the consumer for providing his phone number That helped up to track down his record and call history in our database We would like to briefly explain our business practices when it comes to calling consumers It is our policy to only call consumers who we believe have requested calls from us to discuss educational opportunities It is not in our interest to cold call customers, and spending our time calling people not interested in our services only hurts our business and costs us money We acquire consumer consent for calls via our website DegreeMatch.com, or through a partner website that displays DegreeMatch.com’s oadvertisement Our website and any 3rd party website we work with are vetted to be in compliance with the E-Sign Act as well as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act to ensure we gain proper consent before dialing a phone number We understand the consumer states he did not request a call from us We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused However, we did receive a request in our system to be contacted Here is the information that was submitted to us: Name: [redacted] Email: [redacted] Phone: [redacted] City: [redacted] State: [redacted] Zip: [redacted] IP Address: [redacted] Timestamp: [redacted] Website OOccurred At: [redacted] When we get a request and the consumer states they did not make the request, it typically is from a consumer checking a box mistakenly that lead to a call or a different consumer accidentally keying in the wrong number When any consumer answers the phone and tells us they aren’t interested, or asks to be placed on our Do Not Call we immediately stop calling the person We called [redacted] a total of times between the time of receiving the oand January 28th when he called us and asked to stop being called Every time we called him we received a No Answer or a Voicemail, which is why the calls continued until [redacted] called us and asked the calls to stop Upon receiving this call from him we immediately ceased all calls and placed him on our Do Not Call list (ensuring his number will never be rang again by our company for any reason) Our service is a free service We simply provide potential seekers of education information on colleges they might be interested We don’t sell anything, and we can’t enroll students in college I say this to hope to reinforce to [redacted] that there is nothing illegal, nefarious or anything related to identity theft happening here We simply attempted to contact someone we thought wanted to hear from us, and when he told us he didn't we stopped We hope this resolves the complaint Please don’t hesitate to reach out should you need any more information Regards, [redacted] CEO DegreeMatch.com

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The original phone number that they called me on was ###-###-####I never requested any information nor provided any personal information to this company at any point in time, and when I asked how they were getting my personal info, they would not directly answer my questionsAlso they would not address the fact that they called me multiple times each day, never leaving a message and would hang up immediately every time I answered their callsWhen I called them back and pointed this out, they stated they had no record of such callsThese are not the actions of a legitimate companyEverything they did seemed extremely suspicious and felt like I was in the middle of having my identity stolenSimply placing me on a "no call" list is appreciated but does not provide any comfort in knowing this company has obtained my personal contact info against my consent and in no way assures me they will eliminate my personal info completely from their database and prevent it from getting into any other similar phishing scam companies out thereI'm not seeking anything from this company and wish to never have to deal with them again - I simply want to report them for the horrible and suspicious practices that they apparently utilize on a routine basisIf they truly are a legitimate organization, I would hope they figure out a professional way to conduct business going forwardIf they are actually a scam organization stealing personal contact info, I would expect them to be shut down immediately
Regards,

RE: Complaint *** *** ***
The intent of this correspondence is to respond to complaint filed by *** *** on 5/13/2015. I hope to address all of her concerns and
resolve this complaint
First, I’d like to address
the matter of how we received her information.
On March 24th, we received a request from the website
*** indicating that a *** *** *** was interested in being
contacted by DegreeMatch to discuss possible education opportunities, and had
checked a box opt-ing in to be contacted by DegreeMatch. The following information was sent to us:
*** ***
***
*** ** ***
IP Address: ***
Phone: ***
OTimestamp: *** ***
As part of
our verification process, we ran a 3rd party email validation check
through BriteVerify to verify the email address. We also did an IP address geo-location check
and verified that the geographic information of the IP address matched that of
the consumer (zip code and area code).
We received the following IP information:
IP Address
Country Code
Location
Postal Code
Coordinates
ISP
Organization
Domain
Metro Code

Our company gains express consent
to call every person we call through our website DegreeMatch.com, or through a
DegreeMatch.com branded advertisement on a partner website (which was the case
here). Any form used to gain this
information is obtained in strict adherence to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and requires a
checkbox to be checked certifying consent to be called in compliance with the E-Sign
Act.
Upon receiving this
information we began to intermittently place outbound calls to *** *** from
our call center. We never reached *** *** until 5-13. Upon speaking to her,
she immediately informed our representative that she wasn't interested in our
services, and our agent immediately removed her from our calling list and added
her to our internal Do Not Call list.
The call did end abruptly, but according to our dialing software our
agent did not hang up. Neither party was
speaking when the call was disconnected, and our agents are instructed to
politely end the call after a consumer does not want our services. Most of the time after a consumer informs us
they do not want our services, they hang up and end the call so this type of
call is not anything out of the ordinary.
*** *** then called us
back twice and was promptly connected to our inbound customer service
team. She first spoke to a team member
named *** how offered to help her. The
consumer refused to speak to her and demanded a manager. *** said “no problem” and got up from her
seat to find a superior. Her direct
manager was not available so she came back and informed *** *** that a
manager wasn’t available but that she could help her. *** *** refused to receive help from her,
and *** informed her that she could call back later to speak with a manager
*** *** immediately
called back and was promptly connected to a new customer service member named
***. She again requested a
manager. *** went and got her
direct manager, *** who answered the call.
*** offered to help her, but *** *** refused to speak with her
because her title was a “Supervisor” and not “Manager”. *** then got her direct superior ***,
who got on the call. *** also has “Supervisor” in his title, so
she also refused to speak to him. In
our call center, Floor Supervisor is actually the highest title we have. *** then
left his station to then find ***, who is the highest ranking person at our
call center. He was at lunch, so he went
into the break room to get *** so that he could help *** *** (this call occurred
at 12:08pm EST, which is ***’s scheduled lunch break). His title is actually Floor Supervisor as
well. *** got on the phone and told
her his title was “Administrative Manager” in an attempt to get her to speak to
him so he could help her. She ignored
his numerous requests to help her, and instead wanted to accuse him of not
really being at lunch. While for small
portions of the interaction *** was not as professional as we would like (and
we will address this), we do not feel he engaged in any egregious behavior. He did offer to help *** *** a number of
times, but she did not seem interested in any customer service He
politely offered to help her many times, but she continually refused, and
eventually she stated “we would hear from her lawyers”
Our support team genuinely
offered to help *** ***, asking her “how can we help her” over times. She never once answered and was extremely
confrontational making it impossible to help her in any way
I have attached the call
recordings of the calls in question to demonstrate our agent’s behavior, which
was consistently polite and genuinely trying to be helpful.
I have sent our oconsent information above. I hope this resolves this complaint and demonstrates
DegreeMatch’s compliance with all telemarketing laws, as well as our sincere
effort to offer *** *** high quality customer service
Please let me know if
there is anything else I can provide to assist in this matter
Sincerely,
*** *** ***

Complaint
I have received repeated phone calls from ###-###-#### multiple times a dayThey will not leave a message when I can't answer, and when I do they immediately hang upWhen I've called them back, they claim to be "Degree Match" and they have all my contact informationI have never filled out any
information or requested any information from their services or anything remotely similarThe people at the company will not provide any further information to validate their identity, they will not explain to me how they came into possession of my personal information, and every time I requested assistance with this matter, they would transfer me, leave me on hold forever, hang up on me directly, or refuse to directly answer any of my questions and simply give me the run aroundI believe this is an issue of identity theft and I want to make sure this phone number and its associated organization, whomever they actually are, will be shut down before anyone else can be victimized
Desired Resolution
I want an explanation as to how this organization came into possession of my personal informationI want to know what companies they are partnered with and I want charges pressed against this company and any others associated with them should it be revealed that they are dealing illegally in stolen
personal information collected through nefarious practices

Regarding: Complaint #[redacted]
We have received the complaint from the consumer [redacted], and have investigated the issue and are responding with our findings.
DegreeMatch is in the business of calling people who request
calls from our company...

regarding educational opportunities.  Consumers can opt-in to these calls via our
website DegreeMatch.com and/or websites we partner with.   All consent for these calls is thoroughly
vetted to be in compliance with the TCPA, Do Not call regulations and all other
state/federal laws.
On 2015-08-13 at 8:26pm EST we received a request through
our partner site Mommysfreebies.com that a consumer wished to be called by us
on the phone number: ###-###-####.  Along
with this request, we received the following information, keyed into the form
by the consumer:
Name: [redacted]
Email: [redacted]
Phone Number: ###-###-####
City: Binghamton, NY [redacted]
IP Address: [redacted]
As part of our verification process, we used a 3rd
party service to verify the IP address geo-location and received a match on the

Upon receiving this opt-in, we began dialing the consumer’s
phone number the next day on 8/14.  We
placed 3 calls to the consumer, but all went to voicemail so we were never able
to reach the consumer.
Upon receiving this complaint, we immediately added the
number ###-###-#### to our internal Do Not Call list, ensuring it will never be
dialed by our company again.
Furthermore, we offer a number of very convenient ways for
the consumer to opt-out of these calls should they no longer want them or
opt-ed into them by accident:
 ·
Answering the phone and informing our agent they
want to be removed from the list.·
Calling us back (which the consumer stated they
did) and using the very simple automated system to remove themselves from the list
or be added to our Do Not Call list.  You
can experience this by calling: ###-###-####·
By emailing our company·
By sending us a fax·
By sending us a letter
Should further information be necessary feel free to request
whatever you may need.   We believe this information adequately
demonstrates our adherence to all state and federal laws as well as showing
that we have resolved this issue by permanently blocking the consumer’s phone
number.
Sincerely,
Brian E[redacted]

Hello [redacted]Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention.  We take these matters very seriously and hope to resolve this quickly. However, after thoroughly searching our database, we can find no records of the phone number provided by the customer: ###-###-####.The phone number...

the customer provided that he received calls from is indeed our caller ID number, so we don't dispute the fact that we may have called him.   However we believe we likely called him on a different number, so we would like to request that he provide the number he received a call from us on, so that we may locate his record in our database. It is our policy to only place calls to customers who have requested calls from us, and to honor all Do No Call Requests immediately.   I can confirm that we have added the phone number ###-###-#### to our Do Not Call list, and our company will never again dial that phone number.  However to adequately respond to this complaint, we need the number that we dialed. Thanks,[redacted]
CEO, DegreeMatch.com

Hello,As an immediate measure, we have added the consumer's phone number [redacted] to our internal Do Not Call list. However, we have no record of every calling this number.  It is likely the consumer was called on a different number.   We kindly ask that the consumer provide the...

number they were called on so that we can suppress the number, complete and investigation and respond accordingly.Sincerely,[redacted]CEO, DegreeMatch

Dear Revdex.com-
First we would like to thank the consumer for providing his
phone number.  That helped up to track
down his record and call history in our database.
We would like to briefly explain our business practices when
it comes to calling consumers.  It is our
policy to only call consumers who we believe have requested calls from us to
discuss educational opportunities.  It is
not in our interest to cold call customers, and spending our time calling
people not interested in our services only hurts our business and costs us
money.   We acquire consumer consent for
calls via our website DegreeMatch.com, or through a partner website that
displays DegreeMatch.com’s opt-in advertisement.   Our website and any 3rd party
website we work with are vetted to be in compliance with the E-Sign Act as well
as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act to ensure we gain proper consent
before dialing a phone number.
We understand the consumer states he did not request a call
from us.   We apologize for any inconvenience
this may have caused.  However, we did receive
a request in our system to be contacted.
Here is the information that was submitted to us:
Name: [redacted]
Email: [redacted]
Phone: [redacted]
City: [redacted]
State: **
Zip: [redacted]
IP Address: [redacted]
Timestamp: [redacted]
Website Opt-in Occurred At: [redacted]
When we get a request and the consumer states they did not make
the request, it typically is from a consumer checking a box mistakenly that
lead to a call or a different consumer accidentally keying in the wrong number.   When any
consumer answers the phone and tells us they aren’t interested, or asks to be
placed on our Do Not Call we immediately stop calling the person.   We called [redacted] a total of 8 times
between the time of receiving the opt-in and January 28th when he
called us and asked to stop being called.
Every time we called him we received a No Answer or a Voicemail, which
is why the calls continued until [redacted] called us and asked the calls to
stop.  Upon receiving this call from him we
immediately ceased all calls and placed him on our Do Not Call list (ensuring
his number will never be rang again by our company for any reason).
Our service is a free service.  We simply provide potential seekers of
education information on colleges they might be interested.  We don’t sell anything, and we can’t enroll
students in college.  I say this to hope
to reinforce to [redacted] that there is nothing illegal, nefarious or anything
related to identity theft happening here.
We simply attempted to contact someone we thought wanted to hear from
us, and when he told us he didn't we stopped.
We hope this resolves the complaint.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out should you
need any more information.
Regards,
[redacted]
