Project took over months
-Stair stringers installed incorrectly
-Composite cover on pressure treated stair stringers not even dimensionally from one side of stairs to the other
-Railing supports installed incorrectly
-Pergola spacing not accurate so that sun shade will not retract correctly
-Railing caps never secured to railing
I wrote a letter to owner outlining problems and held 10% of final payment advising it would be paid when issues were addressedNo response
Throughout the process he asked for more funds and never corrected the issues outlined above

Used them to replace the deck on my house Were very professional, cleaned up
each day Very accommodating, during the work Would use them again if necessary

Review: I hired Decks Unlimited at end of the May-2014 to build [redacted] Composite Deck of 20 Feet X 16 Feet. James M[redacted] owner of Decks Unlimited boasted that he has experience of 20 yrs and more in Deck Building and Home Construction. While signing the contract he committed to complete deck in 2 weeks. After Deck permit he started work slowly. Starting from day one his work was so bad that Framing inspection FAILED twice. He use to show up for 2 hours in a week and use to vanish. Its been 4 and 1/2 month the deck has been left in unfinished state. It's been 3 month since he has not come to work on the deck. The Deck main wooden pillars has developed CRACKS and deck might crumbled due to weight. He has put the Vinyl Railings on the deck, but left STAIRS unfinished without Railings. Once I fall on the stairs and got hurt as there were no support to hold. The stairs are in most DANGEROUS state. Stairs Stringers has developed the CRACKS. He did not build the stairs as per code. There is no cement landing for the Stairs pillars.

He is giving preferences to other customer. Most of the times he commits to come but never shows us. I am tired of his excuses. My whole summer got ruined because I was not able to enjoy and each day went into waiting for him. I am too much stressed due to this.

The whole Deck has become Dangerous and Hazard. He is asking me to enjoy the deck in this situation. I am afraid to go on the deck. Current deck situation is most dangerous. I have asked my kids to stop going to deck.

Current state: The deck final inspection has not been done.Desired Settlement: I want $1500 refund so that I can complete the work through another contractor.
