I responded to a “special offer” for a loan in july, where I followed all advice given to me by forth, aka forth debt pay, aka debt pay gateway, aka guardian litigation…i have been making monthly payments to them and they have done NOTHING. I was not having financial hardships until now.
thank you for posting! after months of being reassured my accounts were close to a “settlement” (which was not clear to me when I first responded to a special loan offer in july), I contacted external agencies for help who instructed me to stop payment to them asap and demanded they refund me all the money they are “holding” - plus the additional “service fees.” I was told they would refund me and apologized, however as they began their process for a refund, they asked why. while I was explaining how the services they offered are not at all what was presented to me, they hung up.
First of all I was never made aware that they were going to stop paying my credit cards upfront. Then I started receiving court summons from the credit card company threatening to sue me. I called debt gateway and they told me that I have to increase my monthly payment to avoid getting sued! WTH?!
Now I’m in a contract that I did not agree to originally and paying over $500 a month! It took them 2 years to settle my accounts.
Look for another company to consolidate with or negotiate with the credit card companies on your own. It will save you a ton of money.

Ms [redacted] , rI have reviewed your account in our system and have found that we did a poor job in handling your account closure and refund requestWe have a policy in place that should haveesulted in you receiving your refund within three days of accepting your Account Closure forms but it was not handled properlyI'm extremely sorry for the inconvenience and stress that this process caused youWe are in the business of attempting to help people in debt settlement programs by allowing them to maintain control over their own funds in what is already a stressful situation and to actually make it harder on you is inexcusable I have entered a refund of any fees that we have charged you over the course of your enrollment with our company as well as any balance that was left in your accountI do have your contact information and would like to contact you to personally apologize for this errorSincerely, [redacted] Debt Pay Gateway - CEO
They explained on the phone that this would consolidate my credit card debt, that if I made monthly payment to them on time, they would use those payments to pay my creditors. What happened was they put my money in an escrow account as they tried to settle with the creditors, this caused late fees and my accounts to go over credit limits harming my credit. They misrepresented themselves, also saying they have an "A" rating with the Revdex.com I latter found out they are not accredited by the Revdex.com.

If you are not getting the service that you expected and the company is not forthright, file a complaint with Consumer Finacual Protect Board (CFPB). They will put fire under their feet and will get results. The agency is there for the consumer.
