Failure to file insurance claims and/or return call to inquiring party
Called Carter Psychology to get appointment for minor child. They would NOT schedule and appointment without verifying that I had insurance. Advised had [redacted] After they verified that there was insurance they scheduled appointment for August 5, 2013. When I went in they wanted payment. I advised them to file insurance. Upon meeting with [redacted] who later I found out is also the Office Manager, he advised it would look like I am being billed DOUNLE but once the insurance was paid I would be refunded the difference. I received a bill within 3 days of the office visit in the amount of $1,080.00. Follow-up consultation was scheduled for August 15th. I was informed that I had to pay the $1,080.00 at that time, which I did. Again I received a 2nd bill for the consultation in the amount of $175.00. within 3-4 days. I waited a few weeks to pay as I figured the insurance had not had time to go. When I received a 2nd notice bill dated September 11, I called to ask if the insurance had been filed. I was told it had NOT been filed but they would do it. I waited again. Then I received a 3rd bill dated September 26. I called again getting no satisfaction. I received a final notice dated Oct 11th. I called again and the receptionist advised she would have someone call me. NO ONE CALLED. I called AGAIN on October 21, and asked to talked to the Office Manager. That is when I found out the [redacted] was the Office Manager also. The clerk did advised that it showed [redacted] on my billing but also stated it showed self pay and she didn't understand why the insurance hadn't been filed. [redacted] was not available but I was told they would have him call me. As of yesterday October 28th he had still not returned my call. Therefore, I went to the office to talk to someone. Was advised that [redacted] was with a patient and they would have him call me. I explained the situation again and advised that if I did NOT hear from him that I was going to the Revdex.com. I felt/feel that their billing AND Customer Service if VERY poor. As far as I know right now they have still not filed the insurance forms NOR HAVE THEY HAD THE COURTESY AND DECENCY TO CALL ME BACK. I have refused to pay the bill for $175.00 until I get some answers.
THE ACCOUNT # is **XXXXXXXX The bills are sent to me and the patient is a small child.
