After a long day at the beach my family and I decided to book a room through booking.com last minute at what we thought would be a descent and clean place for the night. Upon arrival we could clearly see that the pictures that were advertising the hotel were outdated. When we got out of our car we decided to give the room a chance and got our key for the room.
We went in and as soon as we opened the door the stench of mold hit us. I looked around the room like I always do just to make sure it was clean and I found bedbugs as well as mold growing on the underskirts of the beds. We decided to turn in our key and leave due to the poor conditions of the room. I had never seen a room so dirty in all my stays in a motel and I travel for work. To make matters worse they refused to give me a refund because my wife panicked and said we had a family emergency because she was so upset over the room.
Needless to say I will be reporting this to the local health authorities.

On November 6th, my wife and I were coming home from Germany and we had previously booked this hotel on booking.com. Upon arrival to the hotel, we could see that the pictures online were not an accurate representation of the actual hotel. It was easy to see that the hotel was dirty on the inside, it did not seem to be in a safe area as there were homeless walking around in the alley and a semi that carries junked cars in the parking lot. We were aware we had agreed to a nonrefundable room but when you are met with something that is not up to expectations or an accurate representation of what is online, you obviously don't want to stay. We contacted the hotel via booking.com for a cancellation request but were still charged one nights stay. A dispute was filed through our credit card but it did not go in our favor after the merchant claimed they never heard from us and we lied about the state of the hotel in our dispute. Upon further investigation, plenty of reviews from the same week we had planned to stay there began to pop up on Google, Booking.com, and TripAdvisor saying the exact same things - unsafe area and dirty hotel, there were many reviews about bed bugs as well. We do not believe it is far to have to pay for even one nights stay when our expectations were so clearly not met and we felt unsafe and like we could leave with bed bugs but the merchant insists we are just lying.

Refund We would like the merchant to agree to refund the one nights stay. It is not fair that because they think their hotel is just fine that we have to pay. We had no way of knowing 24 hours in advance that the hotel was going to be dirty and unsafe so the terms and conditions should not apply to this situation.
