Contract was fee-for-service for weekly pickup and disposal of household trash. On 3 separate occasions, trash was not picked up, and we were not called by the company. On each occasion, we had to call the company multiple times to arrange for them to come and pick up our trash. After they failed to pick up our trash on 10/31/14 (without calling), we called them to arrange a final pickup and cancel our service with them. We also requested return of our pre-payment doe the months of 11/14 and 12/14. Trash was picked up - subsequent messages left by us about refund of fee have gone unreturned.Desired SettlementWe would like our $50.00 fee (total) covering the months of 11/14 and 12/14 returned.Business Response Contact Name and Title: Dave Baumann, OwnerContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@gmail.comIn response to the referenced complaint, the trash removal vehicle used to provide services to my customers broke down on two separate occasions in the month of October. The vehicle was brought to New York State for repairs and was out of service for two full scheduled days. When the vehicle is repaired and returned, my policy is to proactively continue services, even on unscheduled days, to replenish the services that were missed. This specific customer cancelled services as of November 1st; however, services were still rendered on this date. A refund check in the amount of $50, for November and December services, was sent to [redacted] on the morning of November 10, 2014, mailed from the Dalton post office. In most cases, customers are aware that I will continue services if I am not able to provide the services on their scheduled days, due to unforeseen circumstances. It is not in the customer's best interest if an entire day is taken to make phone calls explaining the situation, when this time could be spent repairing the service vehicle, so that I may continue services in a timely manner. If a customer is in question, they may certainly contact me to retrieve an explanation, which in most cases they do.
