In my office we try to be consistent with all of the patients we do take care ofWhen a patient does not arrive at the time of the appointment we do allow a grace period of minutes before we say the appointment has been missedIf it occurs in the morning I will work through the lunch schedule
to accommodate the patientWe do tell the patient that the patients who are scheduled after them will naturally be taken at the time they have been scheduled forBy the situation that was described the patient did show up well over the minute grace period
The patient did not call and inform us that they were to be lateThis could have alleviated the problemWe could have rebooked them to a more appropriate time
I am sorry the patient did feel abusedBut we do try to accommodate all of our patientsThe parking problem is out of my controlI do not and cannot afford to pay for valet parking at the building I am inBut this gentleman should have a handicapped sticker to accommodate this gentleman
The best that I can offer at this time is to reschedule another appointment for the gentleman
