In May 2019, I had my power steering system fixed, cost me $1700 & was stated to be all encompassing. I've been back 8 times now & it's still leaking!
Dale's quoted me repair to my power steering system in May of 2019 to fix a slightly whining power steering pump. Instead of replacing the pump alone at $500, they told me to fix the problem I needed to do roughly $1200 more of work including the rack & pinion and some other items. Reluctantly I agreed.
A month after the repair, my power steering was again whining, indicating the system was leaking and entraining air. They told me to drive 500 miles on the pump to "break it in" and again I reluctantly agreed. After a week or so, I hit the mileage and brought the car in. They looked at the car and said the pump needed replaced. The pump was again replaced with a rebuilt pump.
Since this time, I have been back with the same problem every 2-months when my system starts to whine. At this point I have been back 8 times over the past year!
Now they are telling me that I need them to replace my power steering lines and compression fittings. My guess is those went bad that over the 8-times the pump had been removed/replaced during the past year.
At this point, I would like my money ($1700) back or the lines Repaired for free. However, I am not sure I trust them to do that work. This whole situation has been miserable and less than what I expect from a repair shop.
And to make maters worst, the shop has been closed the past 2-months for "tax reasons" according to a notice posted on their door. So, I cannot even get in contact with them.
I have all of the receipts and can provide them if needed.
At this point, I would like my money ($1700) back or the lines Repaired for free. If I get my money back I will take my car to a Ford dealer (Make of my car) to have the system diagnosed/repaired.
This issue has been resolved! Dale's reopened up on 1 June, and they promptly and happily repaired the issues with my car.
