AS I HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME TO WASTE WITH THIS PAY $LET'S CALL IT GOOD AND THEN PLEASE DO NOT CALL US AGAIN
THANK YOU

this is the 2nd time we were out for the dishwasherfirst time there was a serious rodent issue at the house that was chewing all the exposed piping/supplies/hoses etc. after they "fixed" the rodent issue they called us back out to fix the dishwasher. after disconnecting plumbing and
electrical, pulling the dishwasher out, replacing a drain hose on the dishwasher, ran it through the hole in the upper portion of the cabinet, reset the dishwasher, reconnected water and electrical and tested it for leaks. the dishwasher hose on the dishwasher itself(this is an appliance issue not a plumbing issue) had been chewed through as well, which was found during testing our workwhich was fine. the owner needs a new dishwasher - period. I never received a call from Ms*** or it would have been returned. We have not been in business for over years by not returning phone callsshe never made the call. Our labor alone was $465.50!! not including the hose etc. This work was done on October 5, and this is the first we have heard of a disputemaybe because we are actually trying to get paid for our work, and the client does not want to pay!! We performed the service and charged accordingly, we need to be paid accordingly. Only after we started charging finance charges did she complain to the Revdex.com

You were told about our up front pricing at the time of the call.  We have a 99.00 diagnostic dispatch fee, that is waived if we do any work.  the plumber will arrive, get his eyes on the job and give you an up front price.  you can either decline the work and pay the 99 or authorize...

the work for the quoted price, which you did.  we do not break the work down, that is why we give you an up front price.  Which you authorized.  We do not clean and reuse existing parts unless YOU request it, at which point there is no guarantee.  Our plumber gave you a fair, up front price based on work that needed to be done, time to order parts, receive them, return to your home and perform the repairs.  you were given the up front price and authorized it, we do not give you a break down of time or materials.  This is our company policy which was given to you BEFORE you booked the appointment.  Thank you.

The service was provided on Oct 5th. Here is a copy/paste from the line on my phone bill that shows the call I made to D&F Plumbing after receiving my bill:
Oct 10 3:07P 503.282.0993 Peak PlanAllow Portland, OR Portland, OR 5 [mins](I can provide this document.)
I asked for Billing. The woman I first spoke to was not able to help me so transferred me to another woman (Owner? President?). I left a detailed message on her voicemail with a complaint about my bill, and asked for a return call. This call was never returned.
According to D&F’s own website they use “Up Front Pricing”:  http://dandfplumbing.com/about-d-and-f-plumbing/up-front-pricing/.
”We now employ a dispatch fee to arrive at your home or business. The use of the dispatch fee allows us to keep costs of repairs down. The licensed professional journeyman plumber will give you a firm upfront price for the repair. If further investigation is required, once you give approval of the price for the repair that is the cost you will pay – unless additional unforeseen repairs are required. The dispatch fee will be waived if repairs are made at the time of the quote. This price will include everything, all labor, parts, miscellaneous materials and parts acquisition time, if any. Using this quoted service pricing method there are no longer any big surprises at the end of the job. After all, it is just as discouraging for us as for you when the repair bill grows so large that you might have considered replacing your old equipment before spending so much to fix it. With Up Front Pricing, you can be in control of the service cost every step of the way.”
I was never given any estimates; instead the plumber acted on his own.
I originally called D&F when there water on the kitchen floor. At this time we didn’t know that the dishwasher was the source of the water because the dishwasher was working just fine.
When D&F first came out they explained that a rat had chewed thought the hose connecting the dishwasher to the water source under the sink. They charged me $99 for this diagnosis. This charge will be waived if the repair is done immediately after, but I decided to find the rat first, so I paid this charge without dispute.
After the rat was caught I then called D&F to replace the hose. And that is ALL I asked them to do: replace the hose. I did not ask them to repair the dishwasher, which had been working just fine. Most importantly, I would not have asked them to repair the dishwasher. I ultimately replaced this dishwasher just like I have replaced every other appliance in that house: with a used one off of Craigslist. I found someone who was gutting their newly purchased condo and getting rid of perfectly good appliances. Cost of the dishwasher: $50.
The plumber acted on his own poor judgment when deciding to spend hours trying to fix the dishwasher that nobody asked him to fix.  This was an error in judgment all his own. This decision went against D&F’s own philosophy that they tout on their website of up-front pricing so that “there are no longer any big surprises at the end of the job. After all, it is just as discouraging for us as for you when the repair bill grows so large that you might have considered replacing your old equipment before spending so much to fix it.”
D&F is asking me to pay $450 to repair an old dishwasher that cost me $50 to replace. They did so on their own, without my permission. I would not have granted this permission. Any person with any sense would not have agreed to pay this amount for this service. Sincerely,[redacted]
