Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2017/09/02) */
In response to Mr. [redacted]'s claim...
We purchased a used transmission from another salvage yard in Fort Wayne Indiana for [redacted] which was different, we then got another one, which we installed and it was a bad transmission after...
driving for a day or two.
[redacted] had the truck towed to a yard in Angola and we picked it up from there. We then took his transmission out and found a place in upstate Michigan to rebuild it for $[redacted].**...because we are a salvage yard, they were willing
to take 10 core transmissions ( I gave 12 cores because 2 had busted brackets) in lieu of cash, we usually sell them for [redacted] each, but we were desperate to satisfy the customer so we took them the core transmissions and
$200 cash. We were told that it would take about a week to rebuild the transmission...it took three plus, because, according to the man I dealt with, they had to order parts on 2 separate occasions. Every time I got any information on
an estimated time frame, I let [redacted] know what they said to me, every time, they did not deliver on the time frame and the customer was angry. I tried to make him happy, but the transmission shop kept giving me false updates,
making me look even worse to the customer when I told him what they told me only to have them not get it dome on time. I drove there to drop off the transmissions, I drove there a week later to get the rebuilt transmission, which
was not ready and then they met me in Grand Rapids the third time. I spent every penny he paid me twice over, trying to make the situation right. After all was said and done, instead of contacting me, the customer contacted you
with a complaint about the rebuilt transmission which has a 12 month parts warranty.
If you should have further questions or concerns, please call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX in my office or XXX-XXX-XXXX
Sincerely,
[redacted]
I have attached a copy of the invoice from the shop where I had the transmission rebuilt.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2017/09/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They are still the company, and the customer had two failed attempts to fix it. If they claim t be just a salvage yard, they should never have said they could do it. And to continue to try painting a pretty picture, instead of being upfront and honest about things was wrong. I understand it's under warranty, but both them and they're choice of vendors are not trustworthy anymore!
