Have contract with Josh L for plumbing on new house after receiving acclaim of his work by a local plumbing supplier. Three stages of work were identified in the contract with payments agreed to for each phase. He completed two phases, but has refused to complete the third phase which includes connection of water to meter, sewer to sewer main, shower pans, and trimming out fixtures. Gas company was not notified to connect and install meter. Water company was not notified to install meter. I called him on several occasions to make corrections due to improper placement of water lines prior to installation of drywall. He was slow to respond. It has been several months since he has been to the work site. Maybe I should have held a percentage of his previous draws to assure he would finish the project. This is causing unnecessary delays in completeness of the residence.
We have addressed this customer and due to disagreements, we agreed it was best not to start the 3rd phase of the plumbing due to customer satisfaction thus far. There was not a contract. There was a quote given stating there are 3 phases in plumbing a new house and our prices for each. We have a slab, top out and trim. We bill upon completion of each phase after inspection. We billed and completed phase 1&2. After phase 2 we decided we could not finish the trim phase and notified the customer he would need to find another company. The 3rd phase does not include shower pans, notifying gas company to connect meter, or notifying water company to install meter (these are things the customer and/or builder is responsible for). As for the corrections to improper placement of water lines; the customer is referring to a dryer vent and water lines that were correctly placed and passed inspection but he wanted them moved against our professional opinion. We are very sorry this customer is upset but we have done everything in our power to address these issues and have decided we cannot satisfy their needs. In the best interest of all parties; we have suggested referral to another company of their choosing for the 3rd phase of plumbing. NOTE: we did not bill nor receive payment for the 3rd phase.
