Terrible customer service and shady sales tactics define this company. In January of 2020, I received a mailer from the company concerning lawn care. I phoned the company to inquire about costs and I declined and told customer service I DID NOT want any lawn care service and sent no payment or signed anything. On March 12 Custom Personalized Lawn Care placed an invoice on my door for service done that day. I phoned that day to explain the error and was told that I was automatically enrolled for service. I explained that I had received a mailer in January and specifically requested by phone to NOT have service and their error was not my fault. They said they would cancel my order but I still owed for the one application. I explained I never ordered anything; I NEVER signed up, to the contrary, I told them I DID NOT want to sign up in my previous phone call. They explained that they sign people up through auto renewal. I said I went out of my way to make sure they knew I did not want service for 2020. They said they had no record of my previous phone call and I had to pay for the March treatment.
On April 18 2019 I paid 1589.24 to Custom Personalized Lawn care. For there discounted early bird special for 5 different lawn applications for the year. I received 1 application of the Mosquito & pest plan on 5-1-19 at the cost of 194.40. Which leaves 1394.84. . On or about 5-19-19 I spoke to Allen(at custom lawn care) and informed him I was about to sell my house so I wouldn't need the rest of the applications. But would like my money refunded for the unused applications. He assured me that was fine and I should receive a check in the mail shortly. By the 2nd week in July I still hadn't seen a check so I called again this time talking to Lee. She assured me she would put the note on her bosses desk but that he only came in about once a month to write checks.(Which I thought was odd) but I said OK. By the middle of August still nothing, so I called again this time speaking with Allen again he also said he would put the note on his bosses desk. When I asked to speak to his boss, he said he wasn't in. Then when I asked for his name and when would be a good time to call, he had no response. Well it is September 23 2019 and I've still received nothing. Not really sure what else to do. I was hoping you could assist. Thank you
I paid for full lawn service up front in 2018. I did not pay for any service in 2019. I actually sold my house they were servicing in December 2018. I received a bill on 4/2/2019 to my forwarding address for $39.90. I called multiple times to resolve this issue and was told it was taken care of. I even received a cancellation letter. Then I received yet another bill with a late fee on 5/3/2019. I called and again asked to have some type of cancellation letter and they said they would forward it to management with a special note that I wanted some kind of cancellation. Then I got a bill for another late fee on 6/3/2019. Now the total is 49.70.
Harassment and crooks. Paid in full for service in 2018. Moved in December 2018. Was billed in April 2019 for services I did not agree on at a house I do not live at. I have called multiple times to reverse the bill and have had nothing but trouble and more late fees. This has happened to multiple others as well according to online google reviews. I wish I would have looked at online reviews however they advertised a local small company and I like to support such companies.
Was sold a single lawn treatment and received and payed for the treatment . Found out the next few treatments were going to to be double the price attempted to cancel the service was told by *** that I had to pay for the service and that in the state of Michigan it was a verbal contract and they would send all future bills to collections . He yelled at me on the phone and told me I will continue to use them. I think because I am a 92 year old woman he can intimidate me.
The first of April 2019, I called and inquired about pricing on the upon years lawn service charges. The pricing quote was a huge increase from my previous year. After the female service rep explained the increase to me, I stated to her that I wanted to call around and get other quotes and would like to cancel my current service this year with Custom Lawn Care. She said and to call them if I decided to use them again. I never called Custom Lawn service again and contracted my lawn to be service by another company. Today I discovered a bill from Custom for $40+ dollars. After speaking to "Management", he said that he found my call on record/file but could not access the audio of my conversation or request to end services. This is totally unacceptable to have a company force their services upon a consumer when I requested to end our relationship. Even after the manager found on file the exact time I called to end service, he refused to remove the charges from my record. It is even worse when I had recommended them to my neighbors and friends in the past.
Company came to my property today and applied fertilizer. Called and asked *** who authorized services for this. No one authorized it, said it is ongoing from year to year. Stated they sent 4 renewals and asked if I read them. Stated NO, why would I sign up when your charges were almost double what I paid last year, that is the reason why you did not hear from me. Said services need to be cancelled of which I cancelled on the spot (cancellation number 1046054), and stated I was responsible for bill today.
Terrible service. Treated neighbors lawn instead of ours once. Often late showing up. Had to call them numerous times. Charged us for service we did not want. Lawn looks much better now that we switched companies.
We cancelled this service in 2016 after a few years of service and constant billing issues along side services never ordered. In 2017 my husband ordered a single service, not a yearly nor a continuing. A SINGLE SERVICE. I reminded him not to order from them again, which we did not. This company conducted service a few days ago on our lawn. I called them to discuss why they would perform service when not requested? They explained that we were on continuing service plan. I explained why we were not on such a plan, we argued back and forth. The main reason for being so upset and not wanting chemicals on our lawn is our yellow Labrador just had cancer surgery and she is an outside dog. I explained to them and they did not care. I would like to know who they get away with assuming contracts from customers??? A single service does not equate to continual services. They stated that because they send out flyers with quotes that I need to call and cancel. I DO NOT OPEN THEIR MAIL!!! I DESPISE THEM AND THROW THEM IN THE TRASH!!! I refuse to pay the bill, its not a service we order.
Customer Lawn Care of Saginaw, MI is a terrible franchise to work with. The company over-fertilized my lawn and burnt out the front yard completely. The sad part is the company didn't even apologize for it. I had to call in and complain to even get reimbursed for the sod that I had to buy to cut into the yard to replace the burnt out grass. I would advise NOT doing business with this company.
Custom Lawn Care sprayed my lawn twice in the 2017 season without my authorization and attempted to bill me for the services; I went with a different company for the 2017 season. For the 2016 season, I paid for the entire year service before they provided service; Custom Lawn Care considers this a continual contract. No contracts were ever signed.
Great service! My grass has never been greener. Great mosquito protection too. I can sit around the camp fire and not be eaten alive.
They treated my lawn twice after several requests from me to discontinue service and are now attempting to extort money from me for those services. They are harassing me daily by phone and email and are threatening collections.
I tried Custom Lawn Care last year for a trial, paid a year in advance and was very unhappy with the service. My lawn was full of weeds and burned in the back at each turn. I decided NOT to use them again. I was not home on the 14th of April and when I did return, I had a bill for crabgrass control affixed to my door. I called immediately and explained what happened and that I DID NOT want their service, I DID NOT order it and I AM NOT paying for it. The man was very rude and said "Oh yes you are!" I said I am not paying for something I don't want and didn't order. He yelled at me saying "well that's not how we operate!" I said I was unsatisfied with how they operate and this is how I operate...I AM NOT PAYING IT!" He yelled at me again and said "You wanna bet!!??!!" at which point I hung up. I have written to them and asked that they STOP sending me bills. Each time they do, they add on another $4.90 "statement fee".
Is there any way you can make them stop?
