I have been thinking about this for several months and have held back because I want to be fair in my complaintI took a car to automotive Electric in the spring of The engine had issuesI brought it in here to have the issues cleaned upUpon bringing it in all the problems were put out on the table and a few extra things I wanted done to complete the jobThere really wasn't a quote but expected it to be expensiveAfter all I was bringing it to a reputable company with reputable employees Money at this time wasn't the issueAfter a couple weeks of approving difthings that needed done the day came to go get it and finally enjoy my classicpaid my bill in full over and was excitedDrove home gave her a bath and cleaned it up ready for a cruiseThe car ran a bit warm but after calling the mechanic he said it wasn't warm enough to worry about just enjoy itRoughly miles into the ride it started making a noise under the valve cover and I got scared called them he said get it right back to themNext day I babied it in to himDropped it offPhone call came and he said a rocker jumped off and it caused a issueHad me order rockers and push tubes again and had them delivered to themThey call I go in and before picking it up the owner said pleaseI said what? that this was already done once why do I need to pay againHe said we have time in itI wanted my car I paidLeft and back home againI swear at miles the same sound started and I got sickI called the mechanic and told him this is ridiculous and he needed to walk me through doing what he did I wasn't paying another for them to fix their mistakeAfter now becoming a mechanic I fixed it with him on the phoneHe said good to goNow I have barely gone 55mph and under miles with this carIt did the same thingI called the mechanic and said listen I have to draw the line somewhereI paid good money for this job and want it rightHe said get it in herePaid to have it towed there not going to drive itAdd it up another to total At this time I am upset about all thisCouple days go by and the mechanic had a outside source come look at it and said my springs werent right for the configured engineI said why tell me this now I paid you to fix all thisLets get it rightHe also said my guy said your heads Junk? Why when [redacted] sold me those brand new he said japan or something my guy uses heads that are 10,well of course mine are junk to him and not appreciated but lets get it fixedHe said well I need push tubes this rating of springs and this set of rockersOk I said third time? I bought the said parts and he got the springs and tubes for me at a dealI appreciate that I doI said whats all this going to cost he said work it out with ***After dealing with [redacted] I said no darn way this is all paid for and I can not accept another bill from you for the same thing over and overI was done throw it all in a box I will come get itThis sounds silly but [redacted] calls [redacted] they decide and and he did not care how long or how much time they put in it he will get it rightIm sick is all I can saydo the math, and more plus the 3rd round of partsplus in parts againwell over Dang this is expensive to get a car fixedHe calls a week later and said come and get itI do get excited again but scared to death I goI drive it home I put close to miles on it and am thinking im goldenNow I get to start enjoying it and by the way it is now fallAll summer this has went onI have driven less that miles all summer kind of bummed but hey there is always next yearThe car sat for close to a month it is a sunday driver car not a daily driverI decide to go for a drive and about minutes into it I start to hear a familiar noise and instantly got sickI pull into the garage throw my sheet over it and sit and pout for a minuteI do not know at this point what to doI'm not a mechanic and can't afford to pay them to fix their mistake and I already know how they operate over thereForget it I will let it sit and figure it outthis car has consumed my entire spring and summerI'm just done and heart brokeI know a guy that is a chevy mechanic ask him to come by and tell me what may be going onHe had me fire it up after hitting temp it starts ticking and actually clangingShut it down he pulls drivers side valve cover off and the rocker is laying in the valley of the engineI said what the heck causes thatHe said it was not seated and worked looseAlso the push tube was extended up that he said was a good thing it didn't go anywhere and after further looking it spit the lifter out of the hole and it is under the manifold somewhere Now it is january and I am just sick againHe checked the rest of the rockers and a couple are loose but okHe will fix it this springNot a happy customer at all
