My apologies for not responding sooner as I was out of the country on vacationFirst, I'd like to express my apologiesAs hard as we try to complete everything in a far exceeding fashion over and above industry standards, over sights can happenThe first news I had received was in letter form weeks after the project was completeIf I was immediately notified that something had been missed, I could have corrected the problemI could have sent the crew back out to correct the issue and their concernsThis was not the case, and I was not allowed to quickly resolve the problem and or their issue. From the beginning I was in contact with Mrs*** and have virtually no contact with Mr***.Secondly, I explained to Mrs [redacted] that removal removal of the carpet would expose the asbestos containing sheet floor and masticI also informed her that any new flooring would have to be glued to this existing floor as nailing, stapling etcof new flooring through the old sheet goods was not allowedThe only way that a different style of flooring could be installed would be the removal of treads and risers since mastic removal from wood is not acceptable.Thirdly, a complete containment of the work area was set up and placed under negative pressureThis area was vacuumed after the wetted carpet had been removedThen existing sheet flooring was wet wiped at the completion of the jobThe surrounding dust, debris in their basement is not and was not our responsibility to clean. If the ***s were that concerned of potential asbestos exposure, why were we notified AFTER they had already completed the removal of staples? Why did the ***s elect to do the staple removal themselves? If the ***s were that concerned about asbestos exposure why did they not have us or another asbestos company do an air quality test?If the ***s were that concerned about the presence of asbestos in "dust" why did they not elect to have that tested?Sincerely, [redacted] Custom Craft Environmental 262-305-
