Curts Auto & RV Repair

This had to be the worst automotive service I've ever seen. I got my back operated on so my Dad took my car to get smogged, which was also a part of the California Bar program which was trying to help us fix our car. My Dad took the car to Curts shop to get it fixed and he charged my Dad $80 to try and get it smogged which he said failed the smog test, then tried to charge him again to fix the car which we already fixed saying that the same code popped up again. After I got better and was able to go get the car smogged myself without changing or fixing anything and the car passed smog petectly fine. So my question is, how can I get a fail and a pass on the same car without doing any work to it? Or Did we just get scammed to try and add a few more dollars into his pocket? I would lIke to hear an answer to this question but it will probably be some sort of technical error that happen right?
