I live in Hastings Nebraska , I hired Cuddigan Law to represent me in my disability caseI drove to Omaha, and I was given a lawyer that was not the Cuddigans, although he seemed nice enoughHe typed a 10-minute letter on the computer and we signed the contract for payment and that was the last time I ever spoke with him That was in early November in April I expressed my opinion to the legal aid that I was not happy with the services I was being given because I only got to talk to the secretary, the legal aid, or whatever students ect and not my attorneyThere had been more than one legal aid or whatever they were that you were assigned to and I just felt like they were not familiar with my case once when I called they didn't even know who they were talking to they were talking to me about somebody else's case and things weren't getting represented to Social Security correctly and the lawyer did not seem to be doing anything Several times I had to call Social Security myself to find out where my case was and give them information I have not yet to hear about my reconsiderationI received a letter in the mail from the lawyer, stating he quit due to my lack of believing in him to represent him in my case but that he still plan to get paidI called his office and ask to speak to him after getting the letter so I could find out how much he intended on charging me I was told that he was busy I asked to talk to his voicemail and I was denied access to his voicemailI was then told that I could not even speak to the legal aid or her voicemail so at that point I became angry and expressed to the secretary answering the phone my opinion on what was I paying forFinally the legal aid came to the phone and I asked her what was going on and what I was responsible to pay for, she said at this point you're intended to pay nothing but if you keep calling you will be paying something and I said well what does that mean? How much will I pay if I win my reconsideration? I just want to know a number and she said um I said um what and she says you're just being rude and hung up on me and all I was simply trying to do was find out a priceWhen the office closed, I left a voicemail and I was not rude I asked to please give me a price and let me know how it worked if I had to obtain another lawyer to represent me in my case if I was still obligated to pay him so I knew what to expect but yet no answer
