To whom it may concern:
Cruz Maintenance and Construction received a formal complaint from your office on July2, 2014. We are writing this letter in response to complaint [redacted], regarding [redacted] in regards to Guarantee or Warranty...
issues.
The complaint states that CMC, Inc. finished the job close to two months late, the contract was initially set with the initial scope of work. 1RC (TT Electronics, failed to provide CMC, Inc. with the design, details and Specifications for the job, which were to be completed and provided up front by their Architectural firm whom they hired for this project. The job was then planned, designed, engineered and design built by CMC, Inc. After the start of the project, [redacted], the representative form IRC (the client) added numerous change orders (which were not included in the original scope of work; such as, additional electrical work (GF1 electrical upgrade in Lab, relocation of 18 receptacles, and increased receptacles to GFI's and 208), HVAC work (RE-locations of existing chiller lines), locks and hardware (key pad Lock Sets changed), door and frame fabrication (frames changed from 36" to 42", these items were not intended to be completed with the initial scope of work and initial timeline. At the end of the job we were asked to demo the ceiling system in order for another tradesman to insulate the old ducting; thereafter, we were asked to re-install the ceiling system, effecting the completion date as well.
Order and wait time for added materials due to the numerous change orders was 4-6 weeks, which in return created more wait time for each added scope of work. All additional work was completed in a timely manner once the materials were received and work could be scheduled according to the client's instruction. There is nothing that can be done in order to change the lead time for this type of circumstance.
It is unfortunate that the HVAC system has been having issues, although CMC, Inc. has attended to every email and every service call with a certified AC technician, within a 24 hour period, which is completely reasonable in terms of service time. CMC, Inc. continues to assess the issue and will resolve the problem (which can be difficult to assess with such a large piece of equipment) as quickly and effectively as possible. CMC, Inc. and the HVAC Sub Contractor have contacted the Supplier to come out on-sight in order to assess the situation. The entire team, including the supplier are involved and working diligently to resolve the problem. We believe that the root of the issue is the motor controller's per the Technician from the manufacturer. We have kept the client notified of progress and will continue to do so.
