Review: We purchased a mattress a few years ago from croydon mattress company. The mattress became very uncomfortable to sleep on, you can even feel the metal springs pushing against your back when laying on the bed. So, we decided to give croydon a call to report the mattress was defective.

Croydon then sent out a third-party representative to investigate if the mattress was defective. The third-party representative came to our house to check out the mattress and submitted his results with croydon. A few days later we got a letter in the mail from croydon stating "After having thoroughly inspected your bedding, they have reported to us that they have found structural defect in the foundation. We will therefore under the warranty replace the defective item".

But, then at the bottom of the letter in hand-writing it says "[redacted] - The mattress they found was stained and therefore not covered by warranty".

So, we called croydon and what they said was since there is a stain on the mattress...they won't refund or credit us for the mattress. They will only give us a credit (not even refund us) for the spring box. We said we don't want to do business with them so please just cut us a check for the refund of the box spring and we will purchase a new mattress somewhere else. They told us "NO" they will only credit us if we want to buy something new with them.Desired Settlement: What we would like is a full refund on both the mattress and box spring. If the foundation had a structural defect (which they have admitted)...that will clearly cause the mattress to be effected. Just because it has one little stain does not mean the springs should be touching the persons back who is laying on the mattress. Plus, for them to "strong-arm" us into having to use them for a new mattress just to get the refund, is a horrible business practice.
