I worked with Andrew M with Crosscountry Mortgage. From the first conversation we had he was very informative and made me feel at ease, this being my first home it wasn't an easy task. He was available day and night with any questions I had and closed my loan TWO weeks early. I highly recommend him and look forward do doing business with him in and the company in the future.

Cross Country Mortgage fit me into a house in June-2016 at closing with a mortgage of $2480. What they did not disclose to me is that they did use the accurate data for the appraisal. I have a escrow shortage that surfaced in July-2017 of $6,392. My mortgage increased $893 and they have not attempted to provide me with answers.

CrossCountry Mortgage Response

From: ***>Date: Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 9:38 AMSubject: Jasmine *** Revdex.com ComplaintTo: Lou ***>Good Morning Lou, We have reviewed Ms.’s complaint. After going over her file, CrossCountry will be sending Ms. a revised Closing Disclosure with a corrected property taxes calculation at $566.19, instead of $556.19. In our system, the proper formula was used to determine the property taxes. The formula used was 2.535164% x $268,000 (value $335,000 x 20% HMS exemption) = $566.19. Ms. stated in her complaint that CrossCountry used the wrong appraisal value. As the formula shows, the correct value was used. Ms. is right that a shortage occurred; however, it is only by $120 on CrossCountry’s part. According to the title company, both the buyer and Ms. signed a waiver that stated whatever was owed on the property taxes for the year (since property taxes in the area are paid in arrears) would be worked out between her and the buyer. Ms. already contacted *** to correct the value in which the taxes are based off. The correction was made by switching the previously listed price to the actual sales price. Ms. will have to contact *** in order to correct any shortage issues which are the result of the wrongly listed price or the agreement between Ms. and the seller. I was working with Cross Country Mortgage lender James *** to get my home refinanced. He repeated told me this would not be a problem and pre approved me, nine months later I was told I could not refinance my home, even though I repeatedly was told that I would. This culminated in Mr. trying to give me a subprime loan with predatory rates. I am embarassed to say that his continual sleazy salesmanship blinded me from the fact that I was being taken for a ride that has affected my family's finances in incredibly damaging ways. Please, do not use this business.

(The following was copy/paste by Revdex.com staff - ***)***From: Anthony ***Date: Fri, Aug 11, 2017 at 4:51 PMSubject: Thomas *** Revdex.com ComplaintTo: "***>Good Afternoon Lou, We have review Mr. complaint. CrossCountry would like to apologize to Mr.; however, CrossCountry had taken every possible step to ensure that Mr. had all available information about his options. CrossCountry assisted Mr. to obtain a mortgage with his first home, with no complications. The loan originator assisting Mr., James ***, described having a very good relationship with the customer. The relationship was so good that Mr. came back to CrossCountry Mortgage and James *** for a refinance. At the time, Mr. had purchased a home and renovated it. He then moved into the new home and the old home was used as a rental property. It was at this point the first obstacle in the refinance surfaced. Mr.’s In-Laws financed the purchase. Due to the nature of that loan (an unsecured and unrecorded loan), the refinance could not be completed. Further, underwriting had sent a statement of denial to Mr., referencing the residence and the unrecorded loan as a principal reason for denial. Mr. returned to CrossCountry in order to try and complete the same refinance of the newly purchased home with the unsecured and unrecorded loan. Mr. already had been denied by other lenders. At this point, CrossCountry made it clear that the debt to income ratio was too high and the refinance would not be approved. However, Mr. offered advice in stating that in July of 2017, guidelines would change that could help get the refinance approved. Mr. made Mr. aware that it would not guarantee approval but would help in pre-approval. Mr. alleges in his complaint that throughout this process CrossCountry used predatory tactics and tried manipulating Mr.; however, CrossCountry did the opposite. CrossCountry tried very hard to assist and develop a good relationship with Mr.. CrossCountry never even ordered an appraisal or took any actions as if approval was a guarantee. Despite Mr.’s claim, CrossCountry did not offer a subprime loan; CrossCountry suggested as a possible option a non-prime lender (***) with a 24 month bank statement program and a rate of 6.5%. Simply, CrossCountry tried to offer as many options and information to best help Mr.. It is unfortunate Mr. feels CrossCountry did not offer excellent customer service. CrossCountry prides itself on excellent, efficient, and personalized customer service and will use this experience to grow in cultivating strong customer relationships. I closed on a mortgage with CrossCountry Mortgage on 05/25/2017. At that time, I was given 2 payment coupons & was told to use them for the first 2 payments and by the time the 3rd was due, I would know whether CrossCountry would be keeping my loan and servicing it themselves or would be transferring it to another company. Since then I have made 2 payments, one for July and one for August. Since then I have tried to call to ask about the status of my loan and to try and have my mailing address changed because all the correspondence is going to the wrong address. I have been told each time that the loan is in a "temporary holding account" and that the decision whether to keep the loan or transfer it still hasn't been made. I have also been told that there is no way to change my address so until my loan is finalized at CrossCountry, I would have to continue to allow my mail to go to the wrong address. This is unacceptable. They tell me that my agent should have changed my address prior to closing, but he did not. I emailed, texted, and call him to try and get it changed prior to closing. I also reminded him to change it the day of the closing. His secretary emailed me 2 weeks ago and ask me to sign a form and I replied to that email requesting that my address be changed and still nothing.

Now, I am ready to send my 3rd payment in which should be September's payment and have no payment coupons. To make matters worse, I received at letter yesterday (sent to the wrong address) advising me that I have a payment due in August and that I need to go ahead and pay it, but I have already paid it via the payment coupon!! I am not receiving statements and I am not able to set up an account online because the loan has not been finalized. So, I am not able to check my balance or see that my payments are being applied properly.

CrossCountry Mortgage Response

From: Anthony ***>Date: Wed, Aug 2, 2017 at 3:25 PMSubject: Jason *** ComplaintTo: "***>Goof Afternoon, We have reviewed Mr.’s complaint. Mr.’s mortgage concerns regarding his monthly payments are resolved as we have received the payment coupons and his cancelled checks work as confirmation that payment has been received. The issue regarding a change in address cannot be resolved by CrossCountry Mortgage as we are no longer the servicer of the loan. It was made clear to his agent and on the phone that address changes could not be done once the mortgage moved into servicing and was in the process of being transferred to a new servicer. On July 20, Mr. was sent a correspondence detailing the notice of transfer and all of the new servicer’s information. Mr.’s loan is now serviced by ***. We have included the goodbye letter so that it may be forwarded to Mr.. Any concerns about address changes must be directed towards ***. Customer Response

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

This matter was handled very unprofessionally and I feel very carelessly. I have not gotten any correspondence from CrossCountry regarding the change of the servicing agent. I did find out on Wednesday that my loan had been moved to ***. The way I found this out is because I got a random "privacy disclosure" from *** and called them wondering why I had received a privacy notice from a place that I knew nothing about and didn't have an account with. That is when I was informed that my loan had been transferred and was now in their hands. So, in the middle of all of this, I mailed a check on Monday (07/31) made payable to CrossCountry Mortgage in the amount of $1200 because after receiving the letter from CrossCountry informing me that I had an August payment that was due on 08/01, I was afraid that they would mark my account as "past due". I called CrossCountry this morning (08/04) to inform them of the check and was told that they hadn't received the check, but if they did in the future, they would forward it on to ***. So I do not want to close this complaint out until the check it located, forwarded to ***, and credited to my account there. After dealing with all of this, I have lost all faith in CrossCountry so I want to make sure that this missing check is located and delivered properly to ***. Once this has been completed I will be okay with closing out this complaint and putting all of this behind me.

Regards,

Jason

Andrew, at Cross Country, did everything in his power to make the home buying process smooth and easy for me. Andrew thoroughly explained everything to me and answered any questions I had, day or night. He went above and beyond to make sure my loan closed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend cross country to anyone buying a home.

As a first time home buyer I was unsure at certain points of the home buying process, Andrew and the team at Cross Country Mortgage were there to answer any questions and make the process simple and easy.

My wife and I were buying a home and we were referred to Cross Country Mortgage by our realtor. We had a very good experience and our loan officer Andrew Matkovic did a great job every step of the way
