Tel*** Animal Refuge and Enrichment , (CARE) is very sorry for *** lost of her cat; but to the claim that somehow, we are responsible for this incident in her own home, we have the following to sayOn March 2, *** Mazzocco adopted a yellow lab blend from our organization. She
asked if the dog was cat friendly. This discussion took place prior to her completing her adoption. We told her that we couldn’t test the dog with cats because the foster family had no cats. *** acknowledged this and even referred to it in several emails stating that we never told her the dog was cat friendly She completed the adoption anyway and promised to have the dog trained and to use every precaution in the meantime. She also signed a legal document of adoption that clearly states that “upon completion of the adoption form, CARE is no longer responsible for the animal". This form also states that the adopter accepts full responsibility for any and all liabilities arising from or related to any present or future illnesses of the adopted animal and for any damages the adopted animal may cause to any person or property.” We have a copy of her signed form and attached the original adoption form.*** signed this form on March 2, Lastly, out of kindness and empathy for what had happened we refund her entirely adoption fee.Sincerely,*** ***CEOCAREl us why here

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:There are so many lies in her response that I wouldn't know where to begin. In my possession are emails between [redacted] and myself repeatedly asking her if the dog is cat friendly and [redacted] assuring me that before the dog is sent up to me she will be tested. I was eventually told that she did not have a prey drive. My first payment to [redacted] was on March 4 and April 6, 2016 is the date of my second and last payment for the dog, so that is when the contract was finalized. I actually received the dog on April 8, two days after my final payment. All of my questions about prey drive were well before my final payment and well before my receipt of the dog. Anyway, after I told [redacted], the founder, that I had filed a complaint with the Revdex.com she did send me $550 which I received this week and was the amount of the adoption fee and the air transport cost. I know that I told the Revdex.com that I wanted to receive the training fee back also but I am willing to let that go. At this time you can close the file, but I hope somewhere it is in your records how wrong they were in how they conducted their business and that it cost the lives of two animals.
Regards,
