CreekSide Food Co-op

Review: On 1/21/2013, **. [redacted] and I joined the CreekSide Food Co-op. The Customer Service Rep, [redacted]., who took our $50.00 stated that the $50.00 would be returned at our request with no stipulations. 9/10/2013, I requested the return of the $50.00. **. [redacted] has moved from the immediate area and does not have cooking facilities. He is disabled and subsisting on SSI and greatly needs his share ($25.00) of the money. I helped the membership campaign at the Co-op by joining. On 9/10/2013, I was told by [redacted], Operations Manager, that my money will not be returned. His claim is that the business is not solvent. Their recent Emails state that the membership numbers are quite sufficient. Sales have also increased in recent weeks, according to their Emails. [redacted] is an affluent area and the residents vacation during the summer months. I told **. [redacted] that the membership numbers are strong and it is not my problem if people do not shop there. As it happens, I did make recommendations about my own preferences so I could shop there more. Some items that I did buy there have since been discontinued. The shelves are stocked and there is no Going Out Of Business notices indicating that I should NOT receive the refund I was promised when joining.Desired Settlement: I am requesting return of the $50.00 membership fee.

We are in receipt of your letter in regards to complaint ID [redacted]. At this time, due to the by-laws of our business any refund of equity must be made thru a board of directors vote. The board is having a meeting on Wednesday October 16th to discuss this matter. A decision should be forth coming from this meeting. I will notify you immediately of that decision
