Craig Insurance Group/Nationwide cancelled my policy after being late one time. They never told me through a letter, email, or phone call. So myself, my wife and my daughter were all driving uninsured for 5 weeks without knowing about this. My daughter scraped someone's fender in a parking lot and Craig Insurance Group/Nationwide refused to pay. Also, I had to pay a $150 fine to the NC DMV for having a lapsed policy, which again, I had no knowledge of. I have been a god customer for 20+years with no accidents.

This claim against my agency is 100% false. The customer was not late making the payment he never paid the bill so his policy cancelled. He was notified by mail on 12/26/19 at the same address listed on the complaint and he was called by an agent in my office on 1/10/20 reminding him to make the payment and she spoke to him directly. The policy cancelled on 1/13/20 for non-pay. The customer did file a claim on 2/14/20 that was denied by the company because his policy had lapsed. He made a payment on 2/24/20 but it was too late it had been over 30 days and the policy could not be reinstated at that time. We offered to write him a new policy but he refused. My office has a copy of the billing reminder mailed to him and notes in our system where he was called and I can provide this documentation. So there is no fault on the agency the customer did not pay his bill. If you need to speak with me about this matter please feel free to call. Thanks
I never got a letter on 12/26, and I made a payment online after the call on Jan.10. Apparently, it went to Homeowners policy instead of Auto policy, but all the website said was thank you for your payment, so I assumed it went to Auto. Another follow-up call or email would have been nice instead of dropping my policy. Or, as the Gas company says, do you need more time to pay your bill. I just feel like customer service was lacking, Thanks
Payments made online or through our customer service department we are not privy to unless the payment comes back non-sufficient funds. So we had no way of knowing what was paid and to what account. We did our part by calling him before the policy cancelled and Nationwide did their part by mailing him the notice. So sorry he feels like the customer service was not up to par but we did everything on our end.
