Review: We rented the [redacted] Cottages for the weekend of 9 May 2014. We made the 2 hour trip only to discover that the cabin was not as pictured on the [redacted] Cottages website. It looked like no one had stayed in the cabin for months....let alone took the time to prepare it for renters. The deck had a full can of trash that stunk and had bugs flying around it. The grill was so dirty that there was no way you could have cooked on it. There were leaves and hoses all over the deck (the hoses alone were a safety hazard). The deck furniture looked like it was ready to fall apart. The Hot Tub looked like it had not been cleaned in a hile - there was a layer of green sm all aound the inside of the tub. The inside of the cabin was even worse that the outside. The carpet was stained and the couch had huge brown stains. The bathroom was a whole other story - the towels were old and frayed, the caulking around the tub was falling apart and the worst of it...there was mold in the tub. That is a serious health issue. There was no way we could have stayed in the cabin - we locked up and left. We sent an e-mail to [redacted] Cottages on 12 May 2014 letting him know the condition of the cabin. We let him know we had pictures to prove condition of the cabin and requested a refund of what we paid to stay there ($335.00). We did not receive a response from [redacted] Cottages until 21 May 2014 stating they would not refund our money, however, they never addressed the health issue or safety issue.
