I cannot get through to First Midwest Bank to access my funds or get answers about my house (paid off in full) which they are managing in a trust account. There continues to be extremely poor service and many unreturned phone calls. I have been told that there is approx. $85,000 in my "account," but due to the lack of communication with my main contact there--I was unable today to even transfer the necessary $452 needed to pay my [redacted] credit card and keep it in good standing. During the last visit to my house, about two weeks ago, I discovered 1 1/2 feet of water in the basement. Despite my numerous phone calls to the bank, requesting information on the repair status, they have given me no answers. In fact, they have changed the locks and told me that "if I enter the house I will be arrested." I have limited resources that I have to use for my retirement,and I have decided to move back into the house to save money. I would also like to personally oversee the sale of my house--which is located in Homer Glen and was appraised at approximately $400,000+. The bank was supposedly handling the sale, but didn't even list the house---or explain to my why that wasn't done.
