for the misunderstanding in regards to the gratuity charged to *** *** on
May ***, While *** *** did not order within a group, she was a member
of a private party of guests and therefore the gratuity charge was applied
Due to the miscommunication on our part, we are willing to refund the $
charge
Review: On Saturday, May [redacted] I met some friends at Cove Lounge in Harlem. We were in a private, reserved room where light refreshments had been purchased ahead of time and were being served. I decided to order my own separate meal and was shocked to see a gratuity charge on my bill. I was told by the [redacted] that there was a service charge attached to the bill because we were in a private room but this information wasn't adequately disclosed when I entered the restaurant -- there was no notice at the hostess station, on the menu and the server didn't mention it when I placed the order. The [redacted] refused to take this additional money off my bill. I was under the impression that gratuities were applied for groups of 6 or more. I did not order with a group. I'd like my gratuity charge of $8 to be refunded to my credit card.Thank you[redacted]Desired Settlement: I'd like this practiced stopped at this business and I'd like a refund of $8.00

of a private party of 40 guests and therefore the gratuity charge was applied.
Due to the miscommunication on our part, we are willing to refund the $8.00
charge.
