Review: Looking at in internet catalog, I found a standard, catalog listed, brick product that I wanted to buy. The manufacturer referred me to their retailer, County Materials of Rice Lake, WI. I described my need for the dark bricks, for a sun absorbent floor in my passive solar home, tow at least six different people in the process for ordering the brick, including to [redacted], the purchasing agent who took my order. Everyone was happy to sell me the brick for top price, including delivery. I received the bricks quickly, to discover that the bricks would not work on my floor as they had three holes in them whereas from the catalog picture I saw and the samples I was sent, showed no holes. I immediately called and emailed Ms [redacted] several unanswered times before I reached her about either returning the bricks or exchanging them for another product that would match my needs. When I finally reached Ms. [redacted] about the bricks, she simply said "no", explaining that they were a special order and could not be returned. The rest of my phone calls and emails went unreturned from [redacted], so I took to calling around the rest of the company, sometimes to find sympathetic ears, but no call backs, and no deals or even profit cost sharing on returning the bricks. They did offer that they could ask about my return them for 1/4 of their value, and ordering new bricks from them. They denied they ever heard my descriptions of the brick use as floor tiles as opposed to wall construction. And there was one more problem with the bricks. They are advertised as "smooth" but the actual bricks are coated with a heavy, course sand, as in a 40 grit sand paper, not suited for floors again. I can't remember ever being refused return or exchange of a stock, catalog item. I can't remember when my word was doubted against the store's, in this case about their knowing of my bricks' intended floor applications. No such thing as "customer is always right here." So, counting shipping, I am stuck with $2800 work of bricks (the price was jacked as I was purchasing them). I have received no offers of help or loss sharing from County Materials. I receive no phone calls returning mine.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome can be refund, exchange, or crediting me at least some fair percentage of the profit they made from sticking me with bricks I can't use.
