Review: I leased a 2013 Chevy Cruze LT from Countryside a little over 5 months ago and I've had nothing, but problems with it since I left the lot. My check engine light started going on and it continues to do so. When the check engine light goes on it tells me the a/c is off due to high temp which basically tells me my engine is overheating and at this time I have no a/c. I contacted Countryside about this issue and they thought they were able to correct the problem, but it continued. Countryside informed me that they have been experiencing this issue with some of the cruzes, but they were able to correct them. Unfortunately, mine is one they can’t correct and I’ve been waiting over five months to get it fixed. I’m told that there engineers are trying to come up with a solution to correct this problem, but I still have no answer when. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been told that there engineers are on vacation. I was also told by the Countryside service manager that she was trying to buy me out of my lease and get me into a new vehicle. I have gotten GM involved and I continue to have problems with my vehicle. My car was recently in Countryside due to my radio and everything else going out while driving with a five year old daughter in the car who started crying because she was scared with what was going on. This is another issue Countryside can’t correct at this time. It’s unsafe driving a vehicle not knowing how fast you are even going at the time. I’ve been really patient and extremely polite all I’m asking is for someone to help me out with this very unsafe vehicle.Desired Settlement: I would like them to buy me out of my lease so I can have a safe car to drive my family and myself.

Response:
Customers vehicle has experienced a condition in
which the display center will read that the air conditioning is being
shut off due to high vehicle temperatures. The vehicle is not actually
overheating. It is a calibration error that the main computer is
reading incorrectly, thinking there is an overheating condition. If the
vehicle is shut off and restarted, the error goes away. The vehicle
will operate ok until the next time the condition occurs. Then the
error will display again on the display. The manufacturer of the
vehicle released a bulletin to reprogram the main computer and it should
stop the condition. In some cases, the thermostat will need to be
replaced also to fully correct the issue. And in a few rare cases, both
will not correct the condition. That is the situation with this
vehicle. We contacted the manufacture to see what would be needed to
correct the issue. They notified us that there are a few vehicles with
this condition occurring and they are working on a correction with their
engineers. Customer was notified of findings and kept up with status
via phone calls (dates and brief transcripts available). Customer was
never without their vehicle. They were able to drive the vehicle while
condition was occurring. Once vehicle was shut off and restarted, the
fault would clear and only occur at random times. Manufacturer has now
released a correction (July 31st) to reprogram the main
computer. They state this will properly correct the condition.
Customer will be notified today that they can bring the vehicle in to
have the new programming installed.
