Review: Country Club Dry Cleaners is operating illegally and unethically. I have been frequenting them for over 6 months and initially I didn't notice anything strange, but a few months ago I would notice that I would take home clothes in different orders then I would drop them off at the cleaners (for example I would notice that items I had taken weeks previously would show up in different/ recent transactions). So this led me to really double check every single transaction and cross reference it with my receipt. This happened again a month ago when I went to pick up my group of items, and noticed a pair of pants were missing. I informed the clerk that my pants were missing, and she seemed perfectly aware of this (although she didn't initially volunteer this information...had I not checked I wouldn't have known). She told me that my pants were "lost" and "maybe at another store". I said "okay, so will you call me when you find them?" and she said yes. A week passed and I hadn't heard anything so I called Country Club Cleaners to see if they were in yet, and the clerk said yes they were. So a week passed before I was able to go into the dry cleaners, and when I arrived I was told there was a mistake...they were in-fact NOT found/ still lost. So at this point, these pants had been lost within the cleaners for one whole month. I kindly told the clerk that I needed to speak to the manager. When the manager came out I calmly expressed that at this point, my pants were lost and I wanted to be reimbursed for the cost of them (approx. $55). THEN instead of doing the right business thing by reimbursing me, the manager told me that I would not be able to ever get my pants back if I didn't bring back a blouse that had been ruined by the seamstress (this was 4 months ago). He said that they had to take that cost (of my store credit) out of the seamstresses salary and he would not address my pants until HE (manager) had seen the blouse for himself. Now, I am without pants and the seamstress is without pay.Desired Settlement: I would like my pants to be returned, or to be reimbursed for the loss of them while they were in the care of Country Club Cleaners. The approximate cost of the pants was $55-- but honestly it's less about the money and more about the unethical decision that the manager cut the seamstress' pay because she messed up a blouse and is now holding that over both my head and the seamstress' head as collateral for why "I can't get my pants back". It's extremely unprofessional.
