On 11/25/2018 I contacted Cotton's Septic because my outside clean out was over flowing with water. They informed me they could come out tomorrow morning to pump out my septic and evaluate it to see if anything else was wrong. They told me to leave a check on the door and they would leave a report and also give me a phone call. 11/27/2018 by the end of the day I had not heard anything so I decided to give them a call, the man on the phone said that one of his workers did it and he would have to call him and see, also there was no report left just a receipt that I paid. I decided to open up my clean out just to make sure that the water was not going to come back up like it was and the whole thing was full of solid waste, which should have been cleaned out when they came out. 11/29/18 I called because I had not heard anything back and there was no answer and the voicemail was full. I called a few more times but still I have yet to hear from someone and the voicemail is full. I also sent an email. I spent $325 for my septic to be cleaned out and I do not think it is right that I have to call out another company and pay another 300 some dollars to have it properly cleaned out.
On 11/4/2008 my neighbor on ***, Chesapeake Beach MD had their septic tank removed and replaced by Cotton's Septic Company. During the process, their trucks tore up my yard. As a courtesy, a gentleman from Cotton's Septic approached me and apologized for the damage done to my yard and gave me his (Cotton's Septic) card and wrote on the back of it stating, "1 free pump out - no dig fee - no expire date - 11/4/2008 - (Signed by Mr. L).
During September 2010, I contacted Cotton's Septic to get my septic system pumped out for free based on the card Mr. L provided. I left several messages regarding the card and the free pump out. I never heard back from him. I had to call another company to pump out my septic system in September 2010 and it cost me $219.00.
In 2018 in my behalf, my gentleman friend Jim made several attempts via phone conversations, voice mail messages and emails to Mr. L to fulfill his promise to pump out my septic tank for free. This went on for 2-3 months and he (Mr. L) never did make any attempt to honor the free pump out. It came to the point where my septic tank was backing up into my basement shower on 4/7/2018. My friend Jim made more attempts to contact Mr. L due to this very urgent need to have my septic pumped out and still got no response from Mr. L. As a result, we had to contact another company to pump out my septic tank for which I was charged $325.00 on 4/10/2018.
In early May 2017, I hired Cotton's Septic to pump the septic tank for a home I own and rent in Maryland. They said they completed the work and charged my credit card $250. I asked for a receipt and they said they would send me one, but they didn't. I had to call them again and they finally emailed me a receipt on 22 May 17.
On 30 May 17, I received my credit card bill and found they had charge me twice for the service - once on 10 May and once on 12 May. Since 30 May, I've called and left at least four phone messages to address the double billing. They have never answered the phone, nor have they returned my calls. I have also sent them multiple emails and they have not responded. It's not right for a business to double charge someone and then ignore their valid request to get a refund of the second charge.
Re: my complaint #***, they finally contacted me and advised they have refunded the over charge. This complaint has been resolved. Thank you.
