Myself, my daughter, and a friend arrived at 6pm and decided upon our food choices, one of which was advertised on a large card just inside the front door. It showed a selection of items for Lent. I chose the tuna melt panini and a cup of tomato basil soup. My daughter and our friend went to the counter to order our selections whilst I found a table to accommodate us. When my daughter gave the man our requirements, she was told that the Lent panini selection was not available. Since it was prominently advertised, my daughter inquired why that was, and was told that the panini had to be cooked and that "made the restaurant smell bad". He was joined by another employee who co-signed this statement. My daughter, not one to leave a contradiction unchallenged, immediately asked that they make my sandwich. They refused and when I intervened, suggested a half tuna salad sandwich instead. To calm the tension, I agreed to that. The food was delivered in a few minutes. My sandwich was quite acceptable, but the soup was barely warm. My daughter's meal and our friend's food was satisfactory.
We ate the meals and sat chatting, finishing our drinks, and eating dessert. At 7.11pm, with the restaurant empty bar us, one of the employees began to clean the tables, put up the chairs on the tables, and sweep the floor on both sides of where we were sitting! To me, it was a clear invitation for us to leave. We left the place, now empty, at 7.30pm. The cafe's advertised closing on their website is 9pm and there were 2 neon red and blue signs flashing "Open"!
I think you should know that this is entirely unacceptable and we will not choose to use Corner Bakery again.

Thank you! I sent a photograph of the receipt and, thus far, have received neither response nor refund. Since your (automated?) response offered the refund upon perusal of a receipt, and the receipt was promptly supplied, I would have expected some kind of contact. Perhaps this complaint site is as much of a disappointment as the restaurant!

I go to Corner bakery at sunland park once and a while and every time I get this cashier, she is always rude. She never smiles, she always has a mad negative face and she never asks if I need anything else. I went yesterday around 5 pm and she took my order very rudely. I think they should do something about her attitude. I've had other cashiers and I know they're not all like her. The rest of my visit was enjoyable. I thought I should complain now because it happens every time. BAD service.

Review: The General Manager David C[redacted] is horrible.I never heard a General Manager talk to their staff like he do and mess up so many orders in 15 minutes. He has over talked the cashier while helping customers. His people skills is WACK and do not know how to address the customer. I also witnessed on several occasions him addressing a manager about a matter that customers should not be hearing while waiting for their order. He also told a manager "you are the boss you don't have to help, make one of them do it" and this was when it was extremely busy. I feel like any matters should be handled in a professional way. I'm just tired of the bad Manager skills I have to see when I go in this restaurant. I did send a complaint to there corporate office but I see the same behavior from this General Manager. I do not plan on going back until he is gone, as long as he is the general manager I would not spend another penny with that location. The corner bakery staff do a good job but they need a new leader.Desired Settlement: Devote this manager and get someone new that's a team player.
