Copper Canyon Dairy Goats

We at *** Goat Farm paid $300 cash to Dan *** of Copper Canyon Dairy Goats in order to reserve 3 nubian goats to be born in 2020. In February of 2020 we paid a balance of $1700 for the same animals to complete the purchase. He never issued a bill of sale or transfer ownership of the goats as is customary. The check issued to him was deposited. On 11 August we contacted *** in order to collect the goats and move to another farm for boarding. He refused to relinquish possession of the animals citing ridiculous reasons pertaining to animal welfare. The goats were being moved to a rival and competing farm for boarding with other animals owned by us. He has had personal issues with said farm in the past This action has caused our breeding program a minor setback for 2021. If punitive damages could be assessed we would welcome them but we do not have the means to enter a lengthy litigation.
