I made a purchase of a milk frothier on June 3, in the amount of $at Cooks of crocus It was a sale and there was a sign stating all sales final I did have a sales person plug in the machine and a light came on Assuming the frothier worked, I purchased it When I arrived home I plugged in the frothier and followed instructions All the milk did was go around, it never got thick or warm I understand the sale was final but assuming their products work if they are selling them I paid a lot of money for this item, is it right they sell non-working appliances to customers I am out $ I offered to purchase something else but they refused It is sitting in the box right now I do think they should return my money for this item
First I notice in your letter that you tried a few times to contact us here at Cooks. Not sure where you called, but our management team has not received any inquiries from your organization Ms *** is correct. She purchased the frother at our annual garage sale. She is
also correct when she says that she knew is was a final sale. Because of the nature of a garage sale, many of the items are dinged, used or damaged. Not cosmetically perfect, but certainly usable. Each receipt says all sales final. We also have signs in the store reinforcing this reality. Last, each of our floor team are also instructed to remind customers that the sales are final. They tell this to everyone when they hand them the stamped receipt In all candor, when we put items on the sale tables, we've checked to be sure they functionWith a sale item, we don't know when or how the failure happened. So, our policy is to claim it up front In this instance, my only question is to inquire if Ms*** was offered the opportunity to speak with our store manager. We hold our floor team responsible to uphold policy. It's a clear response to the vast number of folks who work to game the system and ditch responsibility. Our store managers are the only staff empowered to work around policy Please ask Ms *** to contact Pat, our Grand Avenue store manager, she can be reached at [email protected] I will followup with Pat Karl
