CNA insurance company in Canada was used to insure a one of our shipments arriving from California to New Jersey. Half way through the trailer overturned on 08/04/18. We waited patiently for the trailer to be returned to California terminal and were told it was a total loss as our cargo was electronics. We filed a claim with CNA on 09/10/18 and provided everything requested such as BOL, invoice, pictures etc. Less than half the original shipment was sent back to our supplier in Canada and once received they did verify the boxes were damaged and as these were electronics we doubt they are salvageable and the insurance company is more than welcome to possess it as it IS STILL IN CALIFORNIA. We were assigned an adjuster who refuses to answer her work phone and the only updates we keep receiving are that we are working on your claim. I have had claims in the past with varying insurance companies and none have been this ***. We, myself and my freight broker has reached out to the insurance adjuster numerous times. We received an email on 10/10 asking if we filled out the information required - of course it was filled out that is how we were given a claim number to begin with. Being a small business the cash is needed desperately and this company refuses to work with us.
We are seeking our insurance claim and have been more than patient. We paid for our insurance upfront before freight was picked up and expect at the very least someone to get back to us and update us on the proceedings instead of having to follow up ourselves and not getting the response we are looking for.
I received an update from our Claims Department that the claimant has accepted our settlement offer last week and that the payment request was processed earlier this week. The claimant should be receiving the funds by wire transfer.
Thanks and regards,
