Review: On May 31, 2011 I closed on a property in [redacted] with Conn & Conn. At the closing, I pre-paid 8 months of escrow for city taxes. Then, in addition, beginning with the first mortgage payment in July, I paid a month's worth of escrow every month. Soon, however, I started getting letters that the escrow was short and I needed to pay the balance. Each time I wrote letters with the accounting to the fact that it was an accounting error on the part of Conn & Conn. Nothing ever got resolved. I even spoke in person to their attorney a year ago, but still nothing got resolved. A couple of times, they were even lax about paying the bill at all, and then paid in part late. So, in addition, there are tax interest payments involved which legally I am not responsible for. Now, I want to close out of the loan, and am attempting to settle the escrow firstso I can close. However, when I ask for an accounting on the part of Conn & Conn, they send me threatening letters of foreclosure instead. There is almost $3,000 missing plus a balance of over $1400 in taxes they left unpaid from January. Since I've already paid that money, I'm not willing or able to pay it twice in taxes. But the taxes need to be current in order to close, and I need the balance of the escrow for closing costs. I believe that Conn & Conn has forgotten about the 8 months of pre-pay. So I faxed a copy of the settlement statement with that circled. I've sent month by month accounting, plus consolidated accounting. All I get back is nasty, ugly foreclosure threats! I want to wrap this up, but can't until the escrow is settled,to get out of the loan with them.Desired Settlement: I would like the accounting corrected, and the back taxes paid and the remainder of the escrow returned to me at closing. Also, I would appreciate the ugly threats to stop. I WANT to be out of the loan quickly, and the attitude of Conn & Conn is actually delaying the process, plus the refusal to send me their escrow accounting figures to compare.
Review: In June of 2014 I was referred to this establishment in an attempt to begin the process of a refy cash out on my home in order to purchase a condo & eventually sell the house. Upon meeting [redacted], I paid him $425.00 for inspections to be done on my home & condo which service was never rendered and on top of not acquiring the loan, I've never received my $425.00 back. Never was it stated that the money was nonrefundable & I was told I would get a loan but the amount was not disclosed.Desired Settlement: I just want my $425.00 returned

Response:
totally untrue and false allegations, the properties did not meet underwriting standards and we always inspect the property before we lend on it.we are 70 years in business and this is unheard of, completely obsurd and slander.we told her that the $ 425 is absolutely non refundable. end of story, that's all folks.

Review: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: I was never informed of neither by mouth nor writing the non refundable policy or I would not have given $425.00 with the chance of being denied the loan. I was also never made aware by mouth or in writing my house or the condo I was going for did not meet underwriting requirements. I want my $425.00 back.Sincerely,[redacted]
