Concrete Counters Stained Floors Shower Surrounds Reviews (%countItem)

Product of concrete coutertops installed and defective immediately after installation. Also, charged higher amount in the contract after installation.
We met on June 19, 2019 and agreed to do custom concrete countertops. Per the attached documentation we agreed on the the total of the countertops being $2,100 with 50% as a down payment. There was contact with us and Mr. B during the process and he altered the tops color as we asked. After multiple delays and excuses the counter tops were eventually installed on Friday, September 13. Final modifications were made on Sunday, September 15. Upon installation there was a crack in the island countertop. That crack increasingly got worse over the next few days and began to separate. Mr. B blamed the cracking on the other contractors work in our home. He also increased the job price by over 20%. The amount due was $1,500 instead of the agreed upon $1,050. On Thursday, September 19 Mr. B agreed to stabilize the counter top and mask the crack via text message. I have not had any more correspondence with Mr. B since that date. Since then the counter crack increasingly got worse and cracked all the way through. After having another concrete contractor come out and evaluate the situation he stated it was poured too thin and was poor workmanship. We have now removed the countertops due to structural issues and safety concerns of not knowing if the top would separate to the point that they would fall off the island.

Desired Outcome

We are seeking a refund for lack of proper installation of the product.

The information given is not true. Customer has lied
I visited the job site where the sink and cabinets were unacceptable and tops couldn't be installed. Customer had to modify cabinets. I visited job site again. The cabinet size had increased changing the tops. The countertops had to be remade. When the tops were made the customers changed their minds 3 times on color. They picked a color and then sent me pictures of what they wanted and changed again. I was told to communicate with a *** supt at the job when I arrived to install countertops the cabinets were very bad. The framing and support wouldn't work for the countertops. The supt and homeowner were made aware that the tops would crack on the cabinets. I left the countertops in the house on my transportation tables. The homeowner told me the cabinets were fixed and threatened to deduct money from my balance if I didn't get them installed.
The previous day I witnessed the supt take a reciprocating saw and walk around cutting the cabinet framework with out a level or straight edge.
I arrived on the job to install. The cabinets were not right. I told them. They said install and gave me a handful of shins. It was literally a very bad choice. This*** supt and his*** trim guy were not very good at what they were doing. I installed the countertops. There was nothing I could do. They cracked from lack of support as well as high a low areas. Then to make it worse the*** trim guy hammered some shims into the middle underneath *** the middle up making it worse without asking me anything. I finished the install except one small top. I told the homeowner it wouldn't go because of other items in the way. He told me to get it installed no matter what damage there was. That he would pay to have it repaired. When he returned home he asked about the crack. I said I told you. He texted me and toyme not to worry about it.
He then contacted me wanting me to repair the crack. Because I didn't respond and repair the crack promptly he called the Revdex.com. And here we are. I deal
With many people. I don't make everything's perfect and I can't please everyone obviously. My mistake is not getting each item documented and modifying my contract. I should have known there was a problem with the homeowner and*** contractor when I had to keep showing them how to fix their cabinets. Here's just one thing he said.
Remember this:
Do what you need to do to get it in, I will pay for trim to be repaired if need be. This was a small top after the big one.
Here's another threatening text from him. We just received word yesterday we have now had to delay closing. Doing so is costing us over $1,400 dollars right now and increasing daily. The list below needs to be completed by the end of the day tomorrow (Monday, September 16, 2019). If this is not completed, we will need to begin deducting the money we will be out for the delays. Because of these delays we are going to be taking a significant financial hit. I will deduct $100 daily from the $1,050 we owe you for completion beginning Tuesday, September 17, 2019. All I am asking is that the job be completed just as you said it would be yesterday, in the above text. We will pay you when the job is finished on site as long as you communicate when you will be there. Below is the list.

1) Holes drilled properly for faucet and disposal on island.
2) Cook top cutout properly on wall side countertop.
3) Hole drilled in back of the top on desk piece.
4) Edges evened out under tape on desk piece.
5) Final countertop installed over cooler and ice maker.

NOTHING else needs to be altered, changed or addressed. No cracks need to be worked on. Thank you.

Shoe prints permanently made into stain on floors, concrete shower panels falling off the wall, concrete countertops crumbling. Refuses to replace.
On November 24 2018, *** of Concrete Surfaces located at*** Millington, TN 38053 and at *** agreed upon work to be done at ***. The work was too include staining, sealing, and waxing of 1500 sq ft of concrete floors; 76 sqft of solid concrete countertops; and a 4'x7' walk-in shower consisting of a mud bed and concrete panels for walls. The total quoted price was $5,568.00; $1542.00 floors, $1746.00 shower, and $2280 for countertops with a 50% deposit due up front and final payment due upon completion. The deposit for the floors was paid on 11/24/2018 via *** in the amount of $771.00 made out to Johnny B. The deposit for the shower and countertops was paid via the *** to Concrete Surfaces ET by a *** card in the amount of $2140.00 on 11/29/2018. Final payment for the floors was paid via the SQ app to Concrete Surfaces ET by a *** card in the amount of $771.00 on 11/29/2018. Final payment for the countertops and shower was paid to Concrete Surfaces ETC of Millington, TN by an *** in the amount of $1886.00 on 02/01/2019. All methods of payment belonged to***

Upon completion of the floor staining and sealing numerous shoe mark were noticed throughout the house where it was apparent the installer had walked around on the floor while it was still wet with stain. Once the sealer had dried it was very rough and appeared to have air bubbles in it throughout the residence. The sealer was sanded back done and reapplied in most areas but the shoe prints could not be removed. The floor was not refinished in the toilet closet in the master bathroom and it still has a rough porous surface to this day.

The shower panels were not properly installed and have begun to separate from the wall. This has caused large gaps at the seams which is allowing water in behind the panels as well as becoming a hazardous condition if they were to fall completely off the wall.

The countertops were installed and sealed the end of January 2019. By March 8 2019 the tops had already began to form large cracks in multiple places. It appears as if they are crumbling apart and the sealer has begun to peel off the top of the surface as well. On March 8 2019 Johnny B communicated via text that he was wanting to come out and measure the countertops so that he could save time on cutting. This was in response to a phone conversation between *** in regards to the countertops cracking and needing to be replaced under the warranty provided by Concrete Surfaces and Johnny B on all of his work. Measurements were taken on 3/10/2019. On 4/4/2019 B advised the tops "should be ready to install next week". On 4/18/19 he was asked if the tops were ready and advised "close". On 4/29/19 B advised "We'll try to install this weekend". No further response was made despite text and phone calls to B until 7/2/2019 when B text "I've been out of town. We're back in the shop working on everything." Again after multiple texts and calls B advised via tex on 7/31/2019 "Thx. For your patience. I've only been working on yours and floors. No more countertops". On 8/5/19 when questioned if tops would be in before the end of the month B responded "for sure". On 9/29/29 B advised there had been a sickness in the family and "I haven't been able to focus on anything. Especially warranty work like yours." *** then requested a full refund and B has yet to respond in any way.

After countless phone calls, texts, trips to B place of work and business I feel as I have exhausted all means of getting the work properly replaced and or repaired. B has also failed to provide a refund for the unsatisfactory work completed. I wish to be refunded the full amount paid to Johnny B and Concrete Surfaces of $5,568.00.

Desired Outcome

Full refund due to the fact that I have waited for over seven months for repairs and replacements that have never occurred despite being told they would be done numerous times.

I'm s little late getting this in.
1st I entered intangible agreement with this person. Little did I know him.
We cleaned the floors. The next day we had to cleayit again from him walking in mud and his dog too. The next day again. We had to clean. This time I said no more. The next day we Stained the floor black. We sealed it. It was beautiful. The wife of the customer said it was too shiny. We sanded and resealed with satin sealer. Still too shiny. We sanded and applied a satin wax. Too flat. We sanded and applied a gloss wax. Finally ok. He never paid us for any of that. The painters got paint on the floors. They used chemicals to remove it a destroyed the floors. I trescex them again. He still didn't pay.
The countertops. I made the countertops. After delivetihe changed his mind from 36" bar tops to 48" bar tops saying that's what they were supposed to be. This kept going on with this customer. We made and installed countertops. His negligent plumber and cabinet contractor destroyed the countertops raising and moving them to modify their work. I was actually going to remake some of them for him but I explained I would have to work it in.
The shower. We did his shower. I never heard anything about his shower. I only did part of it and he kept adding to it. He and his father did the final parts of it.
This customer works for the government in a law enforcement capacity. He kept coming by my shop with his uniform on and his service revolver obviously trying to intimidate me into getting on his project first. I was made aware of this customers visits to shooting events. I lost interest in this customer.

Deposit paid for work that was never done
On November 10th 2018 I hired Concrete Surfaces from Millington TN. to install a concrete counter top in my outdoor kitchen *** required a $500.00 deposit. He told me it would be installed in Two to Two and a half weeks.
He never showed up after countless efforts through text messaging offering excuse after excuse.
Weeks turned into months at which I wanted a full refund we are now in February still no refund.

Desired Outcome

I Would just like my refund back.
