must have a Release Of Information, signed by the patient, allowing us to discuss any Protected Health InformationDue to the lack of this release for the complainant, we have been unsuccessful in communication.In response to the complaint about duplicate billing, the medical records of the Patient have been reviewed by two of our Certified Professional Coders and both determined that the documentation supports the services billedThe patient was not charged incorrectly for any services provided.The complainant states she was called an “abuser”; an investigation was done with both the Clinic staff and the Billing Department staffBased on this investigation, it was determined that staff acted appropriately and in accordance with our disruptive patient policy. I am rejecting this response because: No one from your clinic bothered to research your said findings or reached out to the party involved. Your policy is not clear about charges and we were told to enter the clinic for a wound check not an official check with a doctor. We were told explicitly that it was free of charge, excused from the billing counter on check out…. and later billed. we didn't ask to see a doctor!!
It was inappropriate to approach anyone as a disruptive patient. NO DISRUPTION WAS MADE UNTIL YOUR STAFF MEMBER AGGRESSIVELY ENTERED THE ROOM MAKING ACCUSATIONS. THIS IS WHY WE WERENT ASKED TO LEAVE BY YOUR MANAGER… BECAUSE WE DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG OR OUT OF SORTS. BUT YOUR EMPLOYEE DID. The way you lure people in for a follow up treatment and then bill them is called BAIT AND SWITCH. You should review your policies with your employees so they do attempt to swindle additional money out of the population. Its gross!!! I made an accurate account of what occurred and still, you have not listened one bit. As I indicated, I have POA and requested to send it in to you when your next RUDE EMPLOYEE hung up on me for no good reason. the way you treat people in your clinic and in your billing department is ATROCIOUS!!! And it frankly is the opposite of helping those in need.
