To Whom It May Concern, I am writing in response to a customer complaint that was filed against Commonwealth Anesthesia Associates under case number [redacted]. We are not contracted with [redacted], however, we do accept the [redacted] rates. We are blind providers, which means that we do not see...

patients prior to surgery. We are contracted with the facility to provide anesthesia services to all patients, no matter the type of insurance, if any, that the patient has. We are not aware of the patient’s insurance until after the services have been provided. This is the same for all ancillary providers (i.e. Radiologist, Pathologist, Anesthesiologist). The majority of insurance companies include a provision within the patient’s policy that states as long as the patient chooses an in network facility and surgeon, their ancillary provider claims should be processed under the patient’s in network benefits as well. We billed this claim correctly, however, [redacted] processed it under the patient’s out of network benefits in error. Having received no phone call from the patient, we were unaware that this claim was processed incorrectly. Now that we are aware that [redacted] is in the process of correcting this claim, we have transferred the balance back to insurance pending and cancelled this account at the collection agency. I have all my [redacted] from [redacted]. They say on everyone that I owe -0-. Therefore I feel I am owed a refund from Commonwealth Anesthesia.
