Review: on august [redacted] 2013 I had stayed there. I stay there about 3 times a month for the past six months, it is a bit rundown but it is convenient. I went there again on August ** 2013 and as I was checking in I was told I owe $50.00 for damage to a chair in the room. I told them I did not damage any chair - to which I was shown pictures of a dent in the armrest. I again told them I did not damage the chair and there are 2 chairs in the room too and the damaged one they showed me was the chair no one sat in. they could not provide any proof that the damage was not there prior to my stay and despite what I say I do not believe for a second that there entire staff inspects every inch of every room every time, I know this because having stay there often I have seen first hand that they do not... I was told I cannot stay there unless I paid for it. I asked to speak to someone in charge and there was no one available nor anyone that can be called. I was forced to pay for something I did not do - I would have walked away but I had no choice. so for that stay I had them inspect the room before and after completely wasting my time. this is completely unacceptable and I cannot believe I was forced to pay for something I did not do otherwise I cannot stay there. every single room I have stayed in has damages to most everything in the room. it is ridiculous...Desired Settlement: reimbursement for being forced to pay for something I did not do

Response:
Customer indeed was a guest at the Commack Motor Inn, on august [redacted] 2013. He check in at 11:35 am for an 8 hour short stay to check-out at 7:30pm, at 7:21pm he extended his time for a 4 hour short stay. His check -out time thus changes to 11:29 pm at which time he did check-out.
Motel‘s policy is that customers are responsible for damages to the room and is so stated on the registration card at check in. The motel has two employees who are principly assigned to check rooms before and after each rental. This is done from 8:00am to 5:00 pm and from 6:00pm to 3:00am and repeated daily.
Following the complainants check -out the room inspector entered the room and detected the chair‘s metal armrest had a noticeable dent. Thus the $50 limited charges since a replacement of a matching chair appears improbable and would require the purchase of two new chair costing lots more.
The Commack Motor Inn trustingly concedes the final outcome to Revdex.com’s judgment.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
when the commack motor inn says in the response " The motel has
two employees who are principly assigned to check rooms before and after
each rental" what that tells me is that the dirty undergarment I found in the room is apparently ok to leave there based on inspection... I did not complain about that nor the many rooms I have stayed in cause there is always something... I did not damage the chair that they say - I did not even sit in it. when I go there, I have in the past chat with many of the staff as well as seen the staff doing inappropriate and unprofessional things... (go stay there and you will see) I go there for convenience but having my name and reputation tarnished because they accused me and forced me to pay for something that I had nothing to do with is bad business practice. it is disappointing that they want to lose a good customer. I do understand the idea of what they are doing, I get that... but the manner of blame when I had said I did not do what they are accusing me of is unacceptable... I would have never contacted the Revdex.com but it is wrong what was done and I had no other avenue to pursue for correcting this false accusation...

Response:
although I was hoping for the CMI to accept that they made a mistake in blame and I could donate the refund for chair to the charity I volunteer for in there name I will not. I will in my name now but
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I will return there for my weekly visits but make sure I have an employee inspect room
when I check in and out . I also agree with CMI that the Revdex.com should go there and inspect the rooms to see the room conditions...
Sincerely,
