My Comfort Star mini-split unit stopped working in September 2019. I had the unit serviced by an independent contractor and in October I was advised to process a warranty claim as the problem continued to persist. On or about October 15th, a claim was processed with R.E. *** the distributor. On November 21, 2019 R.E. *** advised it would take 4-5 weeks to get a replacement compressor. On or about December 1, 2019, R.E. *** advised that the unit was no longer in production likely due to manufacturer's defects and that they could not help me with the warranty service. They referred me to the Manufacturer. I contacted ComfortStar and they referred me to the Warranty Department. I emailed ComfortStar Warranty Manager, *** regarding my claim and I advised him that the unit was needed to heat the living space for an elderly person. Mr. and I communicated back and forth regarding my claim with no real resolution. He indicated issues with getting parts for my unit or management approval for a replacement unit. On January 15, 2020, Mr. advised that he was awaiting approval to replace my unit. As of today, March 10, 2020, my unit is still inoperable. I have requested that Comfort Star reimburse the cost of the unit.
