Review: We stayed at Comfort Suites on 25-Aug without incident but shortly after there were 3 charges on my credit card for $100, $50, and $50. I phoned the hotel and was told the $100 was temporary in case of incidentals but the two $50 charges were not from the hotel. Since that made no sense I assumed it was a mistake and the charges would be removed. A week later I rechecked and saw the $100 charge was removed but the two $50 charges remained. I again called the hotel and once again told there was no record of the charges and even though they clearly said Comfort Suites the charges must be from Expedia (I booked with Hotwire/Expedia) and I had to call them. I asked to talk to a manager and was told she would call in the morning. I never received a call back. Two days later I called again and spoke with the front desk and again was told the charges were not from Comfort Suites but then after more questioning she found another folio with charges for a lampshade that was damaged with ink. I explained there was a mistake. She told me to talk to the manager. I was transferred and waited on hold for a while before I was told she would call me back. After another day I called my credit card company to inform them I am disputing the charges. The rep called the hotel and was transferred to the manager at her desk but then there was no answer and we were told the manager wasn't there. The front desk suggested I send an email to the manager, Marilyn, but there has been no response. I next sent a complaint to Choice Hotels (Comfort Suites parent company) but have not gotten a response although the website promises a response within 72 hours. The accusation of staining the lampshade was likely an honest mistake but Im 100% certain that neither I nor my family caused the damage and I dont want to pay $100 for something we didnt do. Ive tried 6 times to discuss this directly with the hotel but they have not responded to any of my attempts to contact them. Please help.
