Review: I purchased 30 bags of mulch and paid $30 for delivery. Upon delivery I was informed this does not include stacking, that they dump the bags of mulch out of the end of their loader. I was informed by an angry young man who got very close to my face that expecting stacking was unrealistic, and that I do not live in the real world. He then dumped my order, damaging 4 bags beyond repair, as well as a pile of various debris in his truck and left.Desired Settlement: I do not believe any reasonable person expects delivery to include dumping and damaging a product, along with whatever debris happens to come along. It took me an hour to clean up the mess he made, I think it reasonable that the $30 I paid for delivery be returned.

August 5, 2014Dear [redacted],The customer filing the above reference complaint has been mailed (today) a refund of the $30 delivery fee. It is regrettable that he had an unrealistic expectation of delivery. As is standard practice for businesses such as we are, hand-delivery and stacking of bags of mulch is not part of the delivery fee and reasonable access for a 25' dump truck to deliver product is expected. :I am one of the owners of Colony Supply Company, Inc. and made the delivery myself. Attime of purchase, the customer requested (written on his ticket) that the bags be delivered to his driveway in front of the gate. When I arrived, vehicles were in the way (blocking the requested location) so knocked on the door and I very politely asked him if he would like to move the vehicles so I could unload. He refused to move any vehicles and demanded that I hand carry and stack the 30 bags of mulch between the vehicles. very politely explained to him that the delivery fee was simply to deliver the product to his address and did not include any hand un-loading. He became very loud, screaming derogatory, inflammatory and insulting comments and cursing at me. I certainly did not initiate any confrontation or exchange as the complaint suggests. assure you this is not the way do business. Only after the customer began his barrage of insults (“how pathetic was to deliver mulch for a living”) did respond.Mulch is packaged and delivered in plastic bags and some slight tearing of bags is to be expected during handling, transporting and unloading. There might have been some very minimal quantity of other loose mulch products that came off, but there was certainly not any “various debris".Although the customer did receive delivery of the product as purchased, I am refunding the fee as requested to expedite the closing of this complaint and the conclusion of my business with this customer.
