Review: On March 11, 2013, my apartment flooded due to exterior pressure washing contracted by the apartment complex. The pressure washing caused an apparent rupture of a water pipe, resulting in the flooding. When I returned from out of town travel on March 11, I was greeted by apartment management and maintenance in my flooded apartment. The property manager advised me to find other lodgings for a few days while the water was extracted and the apartment returned to livable conditions. As of March 19, 2013, the apartment still had wet carpeting and new evidence of mold and mildew. The conditions remained uninhabitable. To date, apartment management has offered remediation of $300 off the rent for April, new carpeting and bleaching of the black growth areas. While I feel this is a beginning, this is not adequate compensation for personal expenses and additional damage caused to my personal belongings. My most immediate concern is my health and the conditions I have been subject to living in such as black mold and mildewed carpet. I have photographs of black mold growth in addition to the soaked carpet padding one week later. Due to this concern, I contacted the City of Winston Salem, which sent a housing inspector who also took photographs of the black growth. In addition to filing this complaint with the Revdex.com, I am also contacting the Forsyth County Health Department for black mold testing, the local news media, and an attorney. At this time, the apartment complex corporate office(Amber Christine or Miguel Cerpa) refuses to discuss further compensation or remediation.Desired Settlement: Full remediation of all mold, a complete renovation, total compensation for the time I was inconvenience and unable to stay in my apartment. Im also demanding compensation for my medical expenses caused by environmental allergens such as mold. I also desire an apology from Amber Christine the (regional vice president) for speaking with me rudely via telephone telling me this was not her companys fault either that the $200 off Aprils rent along with new carpeting was my complete compensation.
