Colonial Green Products

We hired Colonial Green to apply spray foam insulation to our basement walls for a renovation project. A salesman came, quoted a price, and we paid $1150 upfront via a credit card (half of the total cost) and scheduled the date. On that date the owner of the company arrived to begin prep work, and said the rig and installers were right behind him. They never showed up, and did not answer phone calls from their boss, nor had they called the home office. They came the next day. The two men used loud, vile language, denigrated women, spoke rudely of their boss, and did an extremely sloppy job, leaving gaps and over-spraying beyond the wood framing. They sprayed the new water heater and wires, window, shut off the water heater (unknown to us, and we had no hot water the next day). The salesman said he'd be by the next day to check the quality of the work. We waited all day. He never came; a second day of no-shows by company employees. In a phone call the owner agreed to compensate us $200 for the no-shows and the messy work that we had to clean up before drywall could be installed over the insulation over-spraying. (It took 2 days to saw the foam down before our next work crew could come in.to put up drywall.) We sent a check for the remaining $950 to the address printed on the contract within 2 days. A few days later we got an email saying they did not get the check. We assured them it was sent, and denied their request to bill a credit card. A few days later they did bill the credit account, and told us the address on the contract was "old" and they do not receive mail there. A one-day job took 5 days of our time, our own labor to repair their shabby application of the foam, and frustrating interactions with office staff. Customer service was the worst we've ever experienced. We are still awaiting the return of the check (we did stop payment).
