I lived at this location for over 2 years and really not sure why. My last 6 months would tell it all. To begin with, yes this location is close to Old Town, likely why they get to charge so much for what I consider pretty dated appliances and overall old aesthetic interior. Either way, throughout my stay I dealt with a few instances that went something like this.
Management here is very hit or miss. They at one point had at least 2-3 new people in and out of the reception area, so wasn't sure if they had trouble hiring qualified employees, but sometimes would run into occurrences where they had very little knowledge if any with my questions. Specifically, why the maintenance men kept parking their work golf carts in parking areas meant for residents, as well as an occasion where they parked it behind my vehicle as I was pulling out of my paid parking spot. This of course incurred damages to my vehicle, and the GM if you will passively stated over the phone that it was somehow my fault. Not sure when an illegally parked golf cart is ever not responsible for blocking or damaging a paying tenants property, but it was brushed off.
Moreover, this takes me to my next complaint about a ROACH problem I had. So if a damaged vehicle wasn't enough, now I began dealing with a roach infestation that literally came from nowhere. The blame was placed on another tenant who had moved out below me. Many complaints and close to 10 visits from Burns Pest Control later, who could not kill these roaches for the life of them, I decided to move out. They insisted on using the same pest control company over and over due to a contract, and that was enough from me. Excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't, shouldn't do this is why I feel that there are other properties other then MAA to choose from. Please consider doing your research, and not looking at their hand selected reviews on Apartments.com! Good from a far, but very far from good! Trust me!
