Worst moving company I’ve experienced in 30 years. Took one month to get the first batch of my stuff; another month to get the leftovers; and a few days after that my car finally showed up. The Principal acts like a dragon when you complain, trying to turn it on the customer being upset rather than what mistakes her staff have made (lateness; partial orders; damages; etc.) What a messy and crazy experience.
Move did not take place on date stated. Did not receive furniture, clothing for six days. We had to live in a motel with costs of over $1000. for lodging and meals. Paid a lot of money -- and of course got an additional bill for close to a thousand dollars on delivery. We incurred over a thousand dollars in damages with many items scratched, dented or broken. Claims over $300. must be notarized -- and in the end the company gives you six cents per pound! So, you are beat right off the bat - with notarizing ($100.)
Most items were packed by mover, but they state they were packed by ourselves.
The bottom line -- I would not recommend Collins-Mehling to my worst enemy.
I moved from Newfoundland to Ontario in August, 2020. The movers delivered my belongings ahead of schedule which was great. But here was a lot of my stuff missing, damaged or completely broken. I didn't even know this company was involved with my move. I booked through TLC movers in Newfoundland thinking that was the moving company. I only found out about Collings-Mehling Transfer when my stuff arrived & I got a big bill from them, which was close to $2000 over my quote. I contacted the booker Pat Walsh of TLC about the broken and missing items (nicely), he was rude and basically just said too bad. I also contact Colling Mehling Transfer who didn't bother to get back to me at all. I won't be using this company again and will recommend to anyone I know who is moving to NOT use this company.
