Review: We contracted College Works Painting (CWP) to power wash, scrape, sand, prime and paint the exterior of our house, including our porch and trim. CWP's approach to our job was disorganized and the end product of their work was sloppy. Scraping and sanding was only performed in certain areas and was not completed properly, which resulted in poor appearance to newly installed cedar shingles on much of our house as well as our porch and trim areas. In addition, CWP did not properly tape off or cover areas (ie, windows, window trim, and other areas) which resulted in splashed or sprayed paint on those areas. Also, CWP did not perform a comprehensive powerwash of the areas to be painted and did not prime the house properly or comprehensively. Over the course of the three weeks in which painting took place on our house, CWP showed up inconsistently, or not at all, and no plan or process for how they would complete our job was effectively communicated to us, and the result was as described above. We discussed our concerns with our project manager, and he attempted to fix these areas, however the end results have not changed as we believe there was little to no effort made to properly prepare (ie, powerwash, scrape, sand, stain) the areas of work to begin with. We believe the only way to get the result we contracted for is to re-perform all of the work.Desired Settlement: After discussing our concerns with the project manager for our job, as well as his regional manager, CWP has offered only to "spot fix" our areas of concern. We believe CWP should start over, and perform the job we contracted for with them originally. Since they will not agree to this, we would like to be refunded our initial deposit for the job.
