Review: The majority of this 'nursing program' has not been lead by a nurse but someone who has ZERO formal training in nursing. This is downright dangerous. I question the legality a nursing program not taught by nurses or physicians and strongly encourage the board to investigate by whom and how closely a qualified medical practitioner is advising the program. The program does not have a unique design with didactic lectures as it promises. In the fifteen weeks that I was involved in the course, not a single didactic lecture was given. Instead, each week, students are asked to independently research topics and answer a few questions. This learning structure is ANYTHING BUT unique and hands on as the program touts. It is neglectful and fraudulent. The dean of the program is also the program director, primary instructor, and the primary grader of papers. This is a huge conflict of interest and as a result, students are afraid to speak up about their poor experiences. Students fear that the dean will retaliate by giving them a failing grade or not graduating them. The program is not offering hands-on clinical training to the extent that it originally promised. At the start of the course, students were guaranteed (and paid for) 7 days of hands-on clinical training. Over halfway through the course, these days were whittled down to 5. Further, clinical dates that were once agreed upon by students and instructors were changed abruptly by the staff. As an out of town student with a full-time nursing job, this made my hands-on clinical education impossible to attend (I had already requested paid time off through my employer for the previous dates and had been scheduled to work at my job during the new clinical dates). I made several attempts to contact the dean of the program regarding this conflict and she never responded. I have decided to withdraw from the program in pursuit of what is ethically right. My intent is to prevent other students from enrolling in the program and wasting thousands of dollars on its false promises.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a full refund from the College of Medical Aesthetics.
