Like the many other complaints I ordered coins, was charged immediately for them and now over a month later I sit and wonder why did I ever try to do business with these guys? The first time I tried to buy a set from them, the order would not go through, and the next day the set went up $40 much to my chagrin.

I should have never returned to that place. I guess $10.00 a roll for uncirculated wheat pennies was too good to be true. Dang it, my best friend died today and here I am complaining about some low lifes that are trying to beat me out of 100.00. It's not worth the effort to deal with lower life forms. Life is too short for this nonsense.

I tried to place an order ($300+) first using PayPal and then using a personal credit card. Neither worked. This also happened several days ago and I messaged them but I never heard back. I've never had so much trouble making an online payment, and I charge tens of thousands of dollars online every year. Is Collectors Alliance just incapable of processing online payments? Sounds like they need to hire somebody who knows what they are doing.so they don't frustrate potential new customers.

I've tried to call 3 times but no one is available. It appears the chief financial officer is some woman but, I believe she's the whole company. I would never do business with her and I'm about to report them as frauds.

I ordered a widow's mite for my mother's 60th birthday. They don't seem to have anyone working there. I've called customer service, sale and the financial officer and left 3 messages. NOTHING! No one answers or calls back.

Review: In January 2013, I placed several calls with a representative of the company who identified himself as "[redacted]" to discuss an item on the website that I wanted to order. After discussing the item in great detail, I agreed to place an order based on the representations of Mr. *. Once I received the shipment, I contacted Mr. * the next day to notify him that the shipment had three errors: (i) the wrong box was included, (ii) one item was missing and (iii) other items were not shipped as described. Mr. * acknowledged the errors and said he would work with me to remedy the situation. After several months of discussions with Mr. *, he informed me that I should remove the coins from the box and return the box to the company and he would replace it with the correct box that I ordered. After another month or so, Mr. * called to inform me that his "boss" had rejected the exchange and that I would be required to pay an additional charge to get the remainder of my items. I stated my preference to simply return the rest of the shipment instead of paying any more money. Mr. * said he had a couple more options he would try to get the company to honor our deal, but that if unsuccessful, he would agree to process my return. Today (11/13/13) I spoke with a representative of the company ([redacted]) as well as the Sales Manager and VP, who all informed me that I would have to pay another $50 to get the box I ordered (not addressing the other issues). I rejected the proposal and asked if I could simply return everything, and I was informed that because I was after the 30-day return period, a refund was not possible. They are sending me back the incorrect box, but I have not been reimbursed for my shipping to return the box at Mr. *'s request. I was told that the company does not record phone calls and that Mr. * made no notes in the file until after I returned the box. Mr. * had been fired and was unavailable to discuss the discussions between the two of us.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my full purchase price for all the items that I purchased, and I would happily return the remaining merchandise to get the refund. I also think that the company needs to record phone calls to ensure quality control to prevent this situation from happening again. Finally, I learned for the first time today that other employees of the company (namely, the sales manager) participated in phone calls between myself and Mr. *, but I was never informed of that fact. Based on my discussions with Mr. *, I am not sure that statement is even true, but if it is, it may constitute a violation of my rights.

Review: The sales person soled me three sets of the new American silver eagle dollar coins. She told me that one set would cost me $199.99, two sets would be $179.99 per set, and if I bought ten or more the price would be only $149.99 per set, that's only $10.00 over the original price of $139.99 that the mint was selling them for, then she said, "to our special customer like you [redacted], if you buy three or more you can get in on the $149.99 price per set". I told her I couldn't afford the $460.80 price, she told me she could even charge it out in three monthly payments at $153.60 and then after the sets are paid for she will send them to me. I liked that so I ask her some questions about the sets. I ask if this was the uncertified sets in the original government packaging, she said no they were all certified 70. Because the price was so low I ask was she talking about 3 two coin sets or 3 single coins. She said 3 sets. I ask if they were just like the last sets I bought from her a couple of month ago, she said, "the same".

Last time I bought these sets I had all of the capsules crack and they all had to be replaced. So I ask her to do the quality control and make sure there is no scratches on the capsules, or on the boxes or on the cases, she said she would make sure that they all had nothing wrong with them. Well,,They charged the complete payment of $460.80 to my account and I had to cover it so I didn't over draw. I had to do a night deposit that weekend. I had to wait till Monday to ask her why that happened like that. She said she forgot to mark it for 3 payments but she did offer to fix it, but the damage had been done, I told her no since to change it, that I had covered it already. She had reassured me by telling me that [redacted], her boss, told her that all the sets were in good shape no scratches on the boxes or capsules and on the way. I got the package the next day with only 3 coins not 3 sets. I left message for [redacted] to call me Tuesday today is Thursday.Desired Settlement: She sold me 3 sets not 3 coins. the sets have 2 coins, one enhanced EU70 & a reversed proof RP70, both are from the WestPoint mint. All I got in the mail was 3 enhanced EU70 coins, no boxes no reverse proof coins at all. And the reverse proof coin was the coin she was telling me about how they were going to be worth a lot of money soon. Why would she be talking about a coin that was not going to be sent in the mail to me? Why would she tell me, that she and her boss [redacted] had looked at all the boxes, the cases, and all the capsules, she said there were no scratches any where, they were in perfect condition. I myself think someone is not sure of what's going on at collectors alliance and someone else doesn't care. I did leave message for [redacted] to call me the next day, if not I was calling the Revdex.com and report this incident. That was Monday, they told me he would be back Thursday. Today is Thursday. All I want is my other coins "3 reverse proof RP 70 coins" and all the boxes.

Review: I ORDERED SOME COINS IN DECEMBER 2014 AND WITHIN A WEEK I FOUND THE SAME COINS FOR $100 LESS, SO I CANCELLED THE ORDER (WITHIN A WEEK OF PLACING THE ORIGINAL ORDER). 4 MONTHS LATER THEY SENT THE COINS & I CALLED AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION.

THEY ASKED WHO I TALKED TO WHEN I CANCELLED THE ORDER IN DECEMBER AND I HAD NO IDEA. THEY REIMBURSED ME FOR THE COINS, BUT THEY REFUSED TO COVER MY POSTAGE & INSURANCE WHICH CAME TO$30.55. I HAVE CALLED TWICE SINCE & TALKED TO [redacted] IN CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT HAVE GOTTEN NO WHERE. THIS WAS THEIR MISTAKE & I FEEL I SHOULD NOT BE PENALIZED THE $30.55. THANK YOU, [redacted]

Thank you for the opportunity to reply to this complaint. However, the reason why the customer was not reimbursed for his return postage was because we did not find through our extensive incoming phone data that he actually did call us and cancel the order. We keep records of all incoming phone calls for just such an instance. If we had found that the customer in deed called in and cancelled the order, then we would have reimbursed him for all fees associated with the return since it would have been our error. I had the sales manager make this call based upon the review of the phone records on hand.If any further information is needed, please feel free to reach out to me.[redacted]?

I am rejecting this response because:

When I cancelled the order, I called from one of 2 phones. They checked my home phone number,but I told them to check my cell phone number. I never received a response. Also, when I cancelled the order, I was told that their company was not in the business to be the cheapest and the lady I talked to said it would be no problem to return the coins.

We did check both numbers that the customer gave us and we still had no record on file. Therefore I cannot substantiate the cancellation prior to shipping. We do have a 30 day no questions asked return policy which would indicated the reason why the representative would have told the customer that there would be issue returning the order, however, return postage and original freight is never reimbursed. We show this issue closed on our end at this time, since customer received back her funds that were owed.

This company offers promos on their website and then you have to call them to get the discount from the promo to be applied. Your credit card is charged immediately so then you have to get them to issue you a credit on your card. They probably receive a little interest during this day or two that you wait for your card to receive the credit. Overall very unscrupulous!
