2-3 weeks ago I dropped off a flat tire for repair. I told the blond 40-something guy at the counter about it. I said I'd come back later to pick it up. He said OK and rolled it towards the service area. As it happened I didn't come back til the next day.
The same guy was at the counter. He acted like he never saw me before. I said I came to pick up the tire. He acted like he couldn't understand what I wanted so I had to actually tell him I wanted to pick up the tire. He went back and returned with my tire. I asked what repair was done; he said a patch was installed. Right away I saw there was a problem because a good tire shop uses only plug/patch combos. Then he said $20 which is insane for a flat repair. I asked if he could take the patch off and give me back the tire unrepaired. Then he said OK take it no charge with a lot of complaining about having to pay bills etc. He said not once but twice he would take it to my car even though I had brought the itre in myself in the first place. A few days later I saw it still had the same slow leak as before, which got worse and worse and last night went flat. He'd done nothing and had wanted to charge me $20 for it. I have some sordid ideas to explain his behavior but of course that's speculation. The bottom line is he did nothing the 24 hours my tire was there and wanted to rip me off $20.
